Under The Mountain (miniseries)
''Under the Mountain'' is an eight-part television series based on the 1979 novel of the same name written by Maurice Gee, first transmitted in 1981 and produced by Television New Zealand. Many of the minor roles in this series were played by people who were at the time well known performers in New Zealand. Series overview Plot The show focuses on twins Rachel and Theo Matheson. While on school summer holidays in Auckland, they are contacted by a man named Mr. Jones, who had met them briefly eight years earlier. This time, Mr. Jones reveals his true identity and mission. He is an alien—a member of the mysterious race called The People Who Understand and was sent from another world in a battle against another race of aliens. These latter creatures were a family of slimy, slug-like beasts who could take on human form. An adventure is an exciting experience or undertaking that is typically bold, sometimes risky. Silverdale, Auckland
Silverdale is a village approximately 30 km north of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located on the north bank of the Weiti River and lies to the west of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. State Highway 1 passes to the west of the village via the Northern Motorway. The former route of State Highway 1 runs south-west to north-east through the village. This route was redesignated State Highway 17 before being redesignated Hibiscus Coast Highway (part of Urban Route 31). Jonathan King (film Director)
Jonathan King (born 1967) is a New Zealand film director. He is the son of historian Michael King and brother of author Rachael King. Biography King began his screening career as writer and director of the New Zealand black comedy movie '' Black Sheep'' and was in 2007 co-writer of the screenplay for ''The Tattooist''.
