Under Parr
''Under Parr'' is the fourth studio album by John Parr, released in 1996. Background ''Under Parr'' was released four years after Parr's last studio album '' Man With a Vision'', which had seen a small amount of chart success in Europe. Similarly, ''Under Parr'' was only released in certain countries within Europe through the record labels Blue Martin and K-Tel International (Switzerland) AG. The album and its three singles, "The River Runs Deep," "Size of the Boat" and "Secrets", received little promotion and did not generate any commercial success. ''Under Parr'' was recorded in various recording studios at London, New York and Los Angeles. It was mastered at Greenwood Studios. At the time of the album, Parr was suffering a long legal battle, and after the failure of ''Under Parr'', he decided to spend time away from the music industry. John Parr
John Stephen Parr (born 18 November 1952) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter, best known for his 1985 single "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)", charting at number one in the US and number six in the UK, and for his 1984 US number-six rock single " Naughty Naughty". He has written and performed ten major motion-picture theme songs, including ''Three Men and a Baby'' and '' The Running Man''. Parr has sold over 10 million albums and was nominated for a Grammy award for "St. Elmo's Fire" in 1985. Biography Parr was born in Worksop, England, in 1952. He first entered the music scene when he was 12 years old and formed a band with two fellow schoolmates, which they named The Silence. The band had achieved some success. Ian Lynn
Ian Stuart Lynn is a British musician and composer. He was performing in London's West End as a jazz pianist while still in his teens, and rose to prominence as a musician during the 1970s as the musical director for Barbara Dickson, Sheena Easton, Gerry Rafferty, and Leo Sayer. Since then he has divided his efforts between writing scores for TV and film, and making documentary films, while also working with George Michael, Katrina and the Waves, Miriam Stockley and Elaine Paige. Film credits have included ''Sweet Talker'' (Taylor Hackford), ''The Clandestine Marriage'' (Sir Nigel Hawthorne) and one of 2006's Royal Premiere films, ''These Foolish Things'', starring Lauren Bacall, Anjelica Huston and Terence Stamp.
