Uncut Dope
''Uncut Dope: Geto Boys' Best'' is a compilation album by the Geto Boys consisting of previously released tracks from the group's Rap-a-Lot albums and two new songs. Released on November 17, 1992, through Priority Records, the compilation peaked at #147 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The compilation's new songs were "The Unseen", which was subject to discussion due to lyrics expressing anti-abortion views, and "Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta", which later appeared in the film ''Office Space''. Content The compilation contained tracks from their first four albums: ''Grip It! On That Other Level'' (1989), ''The Geto Boys'' (1990) and ''We Can't Be Stopped'' (1991), although their first album, ''Making Trouble'' (1988), is only represented by the DJ recording, "Balls and My Word" (renamed to "And My Word" in the album's liner notes). ''Uncut Dope'' also contained two previously unreleased songs: "The Unseen" (which is the first Geto Boys song with Big Mike) and "Damn It Feels Good ...

Geto Boys Albums
The Getae ( ) or Gets ( ; grc, Γέται, singular ) were a Thracian-related tribe that once inhabited the regions to either side of the Lower Danube, in what is today northern Bulgaria and southern Romania. Both the singular form ''Get'' and plural ''Getae'' may be derived from a Greek exonym: the area was the hinterland of Greek colonies on the Black Sea coast, bringing the Getae into contact with the ancient Greeks from an early date. Although it is believed that the Getae were related to their westward neighbours, the Dacians, several scholars, especially in the Romanian historiography, posit that the Getae and the Dacians were the same people. Ethnonym The ethnonym ''Getae'' was first used by Herodotus. The root was also used for the Tyragetae, Thyssagetae, Massagetae, and others. Getae and Dacians Ancient sources Strabo, one of the first ancient sources to mention Getae and Dacians, stated in his ''Geographica'' ( 7BC – 20AD) that the Dacians lived in the wes ...

Mind Playing Tricks On Me
"Mind Playing Tricks on Me" is a song by Geto Boys, featured on their 1991 album ''We Can't Be Stopped'' . The lyrics describe the mental anguish and exhaust of life as a gangster, including dealing with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, suicidal ideation, and loneliness. It also samples "Hung Up on My Baby" by Isaac Hayes, from his 1974 film ''Tough Guys''. At the song's peak, it reached 23 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, making it the highest-charting single by the Geto Boys. Background The song was originally intended for a Scarface solo album as he penned three of the song's four verses. However, the Geto Boys' label, Rap-A-Lot Records, decided that the record would be more valuable as a breakout single for the group. On an episode of Yo! MTV Raps: Classic Cuts, Scarface and his grandmother spoke about how she inspired the track "Mind Playing Tricks on Me". Scarface's grandmother was reportedly mumbling to herself, and when asked, "'Mama, what you talkin ...

AllMusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...

Making Trouble
''Making Trouble'' is the debut album by the American hip-hop group the Ghetto Boys. The group originally consisted of Bushwick Bill, DJ Ready Red, Sire Jukebox and Prince Johnny C. Following the release of ''Making Trouble'', Rap-A-Lot Records dropped Sire Jukebox and Johnny C from the group, and added Scarface and Willie D. ''Making Trouble'' received little attention, negative reviews, and is often forgotten in the midst of the group's later successful, acclaimed and controversial albums. Style and Influence The group used a style of rap similar to Run-DMC at this time as opposed to the more hardcore rap style that Scarface and Willie D provided in later albums. Insane Clown Posse's Violent J, who was influenced by the Geto Boys, regards the song "Assassins" as the first horrorcore song ever recorded. It was covered by Insane Clown Posse on their 1999 album ''The Amazing Jeckel Brothers ''The Amazing Jeckel Brothers'' is the fifth studio album by American hip hop group ...
