Uncanny X-Men 94
''Uncanny X-Men'' #94 (originally published simply as ''The X-Men'') is a comic book starring the X-Men that was published by Marvel Comics in August 1975. From issues #67–93, cover dated December 1970 to April 1975, the ''X-Men'' series consisted of reprints due to lack of sales. In May 1975, '' Giant-Size X-Men'' #1 was published, in which Professor X recruits a new team consisting of several foreign nationals to save the X-Men. With issue #94, the magazine was revived, and all of the original X-Men quit, save team leader Cyclops, and are replaced by such "All-New, All-Different" X-Men as Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Colossus. A former X-Men adversary, Banshee, also joins the team at this point. Sunfire returns to Japan in this issue, and Thunderbird dies in issue #95. Christopher S. Claremont (; born November 25, 1950) is a British-born American comic book writer and novelist, known for his 17-year stint on ''Uncanny X-Men'' from 1975 to 1991, far longer than that of any other writer,Claremont, Chris. ''Marvel Age Special: X-Men Anniversary Magazine'' vol. 1, #1 (Sept. 1993). during which he is credited with developing strong female characters as well as introducing complex literary themes into superhero narratives, turning the once underachieving comic into one of Marvel's most popular series. Colossus (comics)
Colossus (Piotr "Peter" Nikolayevich Rasputin) (Russian: Пётр Николаевич Распутин) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum, he first appeared in ''Giant-Size X-Men'' #1 (May 1975). A Russian mutant, he is a member of the X-Men. Colossus is able to transform himself into metallic form, making him the physically strongest of the team. Even when his powers are not engaged, he is still a physically imposing figure of in height. He is portrayed as quiet, honest, and virtuous. He has had a fairly consistent presence in X-Men-related comic books since his debut. A talented artist, he only reluctantly agrees to use his powers in combat, feeling it is his responsibility to use his abilities for the betterment of human- and mutant-kind. Polaris (Lorna Dane) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Arnold Drake and Jim Steranko, Polaris first appeared in ''Uncanny X-Men, The X-Men'' #49 (October 1968). For the majority of her publication history, she has been a member of either the X-Men or one of its sister groups, such as X-Factor (comics), X-Factor. In comics published from 1987 to 1989, she was possessed by a telepathic entity called Malice (comics)#Malice (Marauder), Malice. In comics published from 2000 to 2001 she was a member of the Acolytes and Magneto's cabinet on Genosha. She was shown to be one of the few survivors of a genocide on the island carried out by Wild Sentinels. A Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutant, Polaris can control magnetism in a manner similar to Magneto (Marvel Comics), Magneto, whom she long suspected to be her biological father.
