Unakkaga Mattum
''Unakkaga Mattum'' () is a 2000 Tamil language drama film directed by Chinni Jayanth, making his directorial debut. The film stars himself, newcomer Adhithya, newcomer Poonam and Ramji. The film, produced by Jayasree Narayanan, had musical score by newcomer Bobby Shankar, Shankar's son (of the duo Shankar–Ganesh) and was released in 2000 to negative reviews. Plot Subramani (Adhitya), a timid and rich Brahmin boy, falls in love with Lakshmi (Poonam), a poor girl. Raja (Chinni Jayanth), a rich drunkard, joins the college. Raja falls for Lakshmi but later withdraws, and he is content to remain her good friend. Subramani begins to suspect the relationship between Raja and Lakshmi. Subramani becomes a drunkard, although Raja stops drinking alcohol. Chinni Jayanth (born Krishnamurthy Narayanan on 26 July 1960) is an Indian film director, producer, comedian, actor and mimicry artist who has appeared in many main, character and supporting roles in Tamil films. He is also a popular television personality having hosted hit shows like ''Sagalai Vs Ragalai'', ''Kalakka Povathu Yaar'' and '' Asathapovathu Yaaru'' on Sun TV in Chennai. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935.
