Un Povero Ricco
''Un povero ricco'', also known as ''Rich and Poor'', is a 1983 Italian comedy film directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile. Plot The engineer Eugenio Ronconi lives in Milan a comfortable life, but he is increasingly obsessed of losing all his wealth and become poor. On the advice of his psychologist, therefore he decides to "become" poor for about a month. Pasquale Festa Campanile
Pasquale Festa Campanile (28 July 1927 – 25 February 1986) was an Italian screenwriter, film director and novelist, best known as a prominent exponent of the commedia all'italiana genre. Life and career Born at Melfi, in the province of Potenza, he moved to Rome at young age. He started as a writer and literary critic. ''La nonna Sabella'', one of his novels, was later adapted by Dino Risi into the movie of the same name, internationally known as ''Oh! Sabella'' (1957). He began his cinema career as a screenwriter with ''Faddija – La legge della vendetta'' (1949) by Roberto Bianchi Montero and later co-produced masterpieces of Italian cinema such as ''Poveri ma belli'' (1957) by Risi and ''Rocco and His Brothers'' (1960) and ''The Leopard (1963 film), The Leopard'' (1963) by Luchino Visconti. Ugo Gregoretti (28 September 1930 – 5 July 2019) was an Italian film, television and stage director, actor, screenwriter, author and television host. He directed 20 films during his career. Biography Born in Rome, Gregoretti entered RAI in 1953, working as a documentarist and a director. In 1960 he won the :it:Premio Italia, Premio Italia Award for the television documentary ''La Sicilia del Gattopardo''. In 1962 he made his film debut with the comedy-drama ''I nuovi angeli''. Since 1978 he started his activity on stage as director of prose and opera representations. His activity as director was mainly characterized by a sensitivity to the political and social issues combined to a peculiar use of irony and satire. He was president of the Turin Permanent Theatre from 1980 to 1989 and in 1995 he was nominated president of the Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico.
