''Un original y veinte copias'' (English: ''An original and twenty copies'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Guillermo González for Canal de las Estrellas in 1978. It is a remake of the 1958 Mexican telenovela ''Gutierritos'' produced by Valentín Pimstein. César Bono, Julieta Bracho and Eduardo Alcaraz star as the protagonists, while Antonio Brillas, Teo Tapia, Gina Montes and Patricia Ancira star as the antagonists. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Delia Magaña (February 2, 1903 – March 31, 1996) was a Mexican film and television actress, singer, and dancer. Life Although she started as a silent film actress, Magaña became best known for her comic supporting roles in her later years. Sergio Bustamante (October 18, 1934 – May 22, 2014) was a Mexican actor of telenovelas, cinema, dubbing and theater. Life and career Born Sergio Emilio Edgardo de Bustamante y Arteaga Roa, he studied psychology in UNAM and later acted in ''Escuela de Arte Teatral''. Valentín Pimstein Weiner (August 9, 1925 – June 27, 2017) was a Chilean producer of telenovelas. Biography Pimstein was the seventh child of nine in a Belarusian Jewish family (from Minsk), which owns a glass shop in Barrio Brasil in Santiago. His fondness for the romantic and melodramatic stories born under the eaves of his mother, a frequent consumer of Mexican films and soap operas, and developed in parallel with his interest in theater. After fulfilling adulthood, Pimstein decided to leave his native country in search of adventure.
