''Un Canto por México, Vol. 1'' (English: ''"A Song for México, Volume 1"''), is the eighth studio album by Mexican recording artist Natalia Lafourcade, based on a concert made on November 4, 2019 called ''Un canto por México para la reconstrucción del Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho''. It was released on May 8, 2020. María Natalia Lafourcade Silva (; born 26 February 1984) is a Mexican pop-rock and folk singer and songwriter who, since her debut in 2002, has been one of the most successful singers in Latin America. ''El Mal Querer'' () is the second studio album by Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía, released on 2 November 2018 through Columbia Records. Regional Styles Of Mexican Music
Regional styles of Mexican music vary greatly from state to state. Norteño, banda, duranguense, Son mexicano and other Mexican country music genres are often known as regional Mexican music because each state produces different musical sounds and lyrics. Baja California : Baja California has a characteristic style derived from the huapango norteño, known as calabaceado. Calabaceado is a type dance that was created in the 1940s based in the fact that "norteño music" and typical cowboy cultures were being mixed and this dance shows the mixture of both styles. Son Jarocho
Son jarocho ("Veracruz Sound") is a regional folk musical style of Mexican Son from Veracruz, a Mexican state along the Gulf of Mexico. It evolved over the last two and a half centuries along the coastal portions of southern Tamaulipas state and Veracruz state, hence the term ''jarocho'', a colloquial term for people or things from the port city of Veracruz. Characteristics It represents a fusion of indigenous (primarily Huastecan), Spanish, and African musical elements, reflecting the population which evolved in the region from Spanish colonial times. Lyrics include humorous verses and subjects such as love, nature, sailors, and cattle breeding that still reflect life in colonial and 19th century Mexico. 2017 Puebla Earthquake
The 2017 Puebla earthquake struck at 13:14 CDT (18:14 UTC) on 19 September 2017 with an estimated magnitude of and strong shaking for about 20 seconds. Its epicenter was about south of the city of Puebla, Mexico. The earthquake caused damage in the Mexican states of Puebla and Morelos and in the Greater Mexico City area, including the collapse of more than 40 buildings. 370 people were killed by the earthquake and related building collapses, including 228 in Mexico City, and more than 6,000 were injured. ''Hasta la Raíz'' () is the fifth studio album by Mexican recording artist Natalia Lafourcade, released on March 17, 2015, through Sony Music Mexico. After the success of her previous album, '' Mujer Divina – Homenaje a Agustín Lara'', a tribute to Mexican singer-songwriter Agustín Lara, Lafourcade decided to record an album with original recordings.
