Umeå Municipality
Umeå Municipality (, sme, Ubmi gielda) is a municipality in Västerbotten County in northern Sweden. Its seat is Umeå, which is also the county seat of Västerbotten County. Administration The municipality is an administrative entity defined by geographical borders, consisting of Umeå and a large area around it. The present municipality consists of many former local government units joined together in a series of municipal reforms carried out between 1952 and 1974. A 65-member municipal assembly (''kommunfullmäktige'') is elected by proportional representation for a four-year term. The assembly appoints the 9-member executive committee ('' kommunstyrelsen'') and the 7 governing commissioners. Obbola
Obbola is a locality situated in Umeå Municipality, Västerbotten County, Sweden with 2,197 inhabitants in 2010. It is located close to the town of Holmsund. Obbola lies to the west of the mouth of Ume River at the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea. SCA is the biggest employer in the locality. Holmsund
Holmsund is a locality situated in Umeå Municipality, Västerbotten County, Sweden with 5,489 inhabitants in 2010. It is located 18 km south of the city of Umeå and serves as a port for Umeå. Position Holmsund lies at the mouth of the Ume River. To the west, across the river estuary, is a town called Obbola, the towns are connected by the E12 road which is carried over the river estuary by the Obbola Bridge. Both Holmsund and Obbola have wood and paper industries. From the southern end of Holmsund a ferry service runs to the Finnish port of Vaasa. It was founded in 2010, when almost the entire Västerbotten County section of the Socialist Justice Party (RS) broke off ahead of the 2010 general election. The Socialist Justice Party ( sv, Rättvisepartiet Socialisterna, RS) is a Trotskyist political party in Sweden. RS is the Swedish section of International Socialist Alternative (ISA). The forerunner organization of RS was called ''Arbetarförbundet Offensiv'' (Workers' League - Offensive). The group developed out of the ''Offensiv'' group that had practiced entryism in the Swedish Social Democratic Party during the 1970s and 1980s. The Sweden Democrats ( sv , Sverigedemokraterna ; SD ) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Sweden.
