Umberto Barberis
Umberto Barberis or simply Berto (born 5 June 1952 in Sion, Switzerland) is a former Swiss-Italian footballer, last managing Dubai Club. Playing career Barberis started his career in Switzerland, playing for FC Sion in his native town, and then for Grasshopper Zurich and Servette FC, winning the Swiss Super League and the Schweizer Cup in 1979. He left his country to play for Division 1 side AS Monaco FC where he was elected foreign player of the year by France Football magazine in 1981 and 1982, along with Andrzej Szarmach. In 1982, he also won the Division 1 title with AS Monaco FC. International He was capped 54 times and scored 7 goals. Ligue 1, officially known as Ligue 1 Uber Eats for sponsorship reasons, is a French professional league for men's association football clubs. Sébastien Barberis (born 31 May 1972) is a Swiss retired footballer who played mainly as defender or right winger. He is the son of Umberto Barberis. Football career Barberis started his football career with ES Malley in 1990 and then moved to Lausanne Sports in 1992 before moving to Servette FC one year later. After four seasons with Servette he moved to Swiss giants FC Basel in 1997. Barberis joined Basel's first team for their 1997–98 season under head coach Jörg Berger. After playing in five test games, Barberis played his domestic league debut for his new club in the away game in the Olympique de la Pontaise on 9 July 1997 as Basel were beaten 0–3 by Lausanne-Sport. The Coupe de France, formerly known as the Coupe Charles Simon, is the premier knockout cup competition in French football organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). It was first held in 1917 and is open to all amateur and professional football clubs in France, including clubs based in the overseas departments and territories. Coppa delle Alpi (translated as ''Cup of the Alps'') was a friendly football tournament, first organized by the Italian national league as it started in 1960 and then they were aided by the Swiss League from 1962, for the reason that the majority of the Alps are in Switzerland.
