Ultraphobic
''Ultraphobic'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Warrant. Released on March 7, 1995, on CMC International, after the apparent breakup of the band, the record was regarded as the band's "comeback" album. It is the first album to feature former Kingdom Come and Wild Horses members Rick Steier and James Kottak who came in to replace original band members Joey Allen and Steven Sweet. Production and marketing Warrant began recording ''Ultraphobic'' in November 1994 with producer Beau Hill. The band supported the release of the record with a national tour beginning in Dallas, Texas. A music video was made for the first single "Family Picnic" with a strong message against family violence and for the second single "Stronger Now", which ended up becoming Lane's best song because it was therapeutic to him. ''The Best of Warrant'' is the first greatest hits compilation album by the American rock band Warrant, released in 1996. It features the band's greatest tracks (singles) from their first three studio albums, " Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich", "Cherry Pie" and " Dog Eat Dog". It does not contain any material from the band's 1995 album ''Ultraphobic''. Jani Lane (born John Kennedy Oswald; February 1, 1964 – August 11, 2011) was an American singer and the lead vocalist, frontman, lyricist and main songwriter for the glam metal band Warrant. Lane left Warrant in 2004 and again in 2008 after a brief reunion. Jerry Dixon (musician)
Jerry Lawrence Dixon (born September 15, 1967) is an American musician, and one of the original members of the 1980s rock band Warrant. Dixon started playing the bass guitar at 13 years of age. His first bass was a used Sears model that he had purchased from a friend for $30. Dixon joined Warrant while still in high school (11th grade). Dixon has been influenced musically by Geezer Butler and Rudy Sarzo. Erik Turner (born March 31, 1964) is best known as the rhythm guitarist in American glam metal band Warrant. ''Dog Eat Dog'' is the third studio album by American rock band Warrant. It was released on August 25, 1992 on the Columbia label of Sony Music, and was their final album for the label. The album peaked at number 25 on The Billboard 200. It is also the last album to feature all five original members, as Joey Allen and Steven Sweet both left the band in 1994, but returned in 2004. Production and marketing Warrant began recording bass and drums for ''Dog Eat Dog'' in Los Angeles, California in February 1992. Overdubs were recorded at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, in March 1992. The record was mixed in at Scream Studios in Studio City, California in April 1992 with producer Michael Wagener. ''Dawn'' is the third Danger Danger album in order of release, though it isn't the third to be recorded. It features Bruno Ravel on guitar as well as bass. On this album, the band went in a very different direction musically, lyrically and image-wise from its previous albums. It can loosely be compared to Warrant's '' Ultraphobic'', which was also released in 1995. This album was released in place of ''Cockroach'', which was scheduled for a 1993 release. However, Ted Poley sought legal action, preventing the album's release. Bassist Scott Brown, who had previously played with Paul Laine as a solo artist, played bass for the tour for Dawn, though he didn't play on the actual album. James Kottak
James Kottak (born December 26, 1962) is an American drummer. Kottak is best known for his work with the German hard rock band Scorpions, which he joined in 1996. At the time of his firing from the band in 2016, he was their all-time longest-serving drummer, surpassing Herman Rarebell, who spent 18 years in the band. Career Prior to joining Scorpions, Kottak was a drummer for the Bob Brickley Band, Nut House, Mister Charlie, Buster Brown, Montrose, Kingdom Come, Wild Horses, the McAuley Schenker Group, Warrant, and Ashba. He gained early mainstream exposure during his time with Kingdom Come, appearing on the band's first two studio albums, the first of which included their biggest hit, "Get it On." George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam. In 1967, Marino landed his first job in the industry as a librarian and assistant at Capitol Studios. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other.
