Daniel Avery (musician)
Daniel Avery is an English electronic music producer and DJ from Bournemouth. Career Early life and musical beginnings Avery was primarily a fan of guitar music in his youth, performing in local bands inspired by Kyuss and My Bloody Valentine (band), My Bloody Valentine. He became a regular attendee at dance music club night Project Mayhem, before eventually being invited to DJ by the night's promoter. He moved to London in 2007, and first began producing and DJing in 2009 under the name Stopmakingme, collaborating with Little Boots, Hercules and Love Affair, and Metronomy, and regularly performing at Fabric (club), Fabric. During this period, Avery worked at the now-defunct Pure Groove record shop in Smithfield Market, London. There he met future collaborators Kelly Lee Owens and James Greenwood. Sherelle Camille Thomas (born ), known mononymously as Sherelle (stylized in all caps), is a British DJ and electronic musician. With a background in dancehall and rave music, Sherelle is best known for her DJ sets and mixes. Sherelle is also known for co-founding the label Hooversound with Naina and for founding Beautiful (stylized in all caps), a label and musical project for black and LGBT musicians. Early life Sherelle was raised in Walthamstow, East London by her mother and sister. She grew up listening to dancehall, R&B and hip hop music, pirated through her family TV. She released her self-titled first album in 2017 to critical praise, her follow-up album ''Inner Song'' was released in August 2020. Her third studio album ''LP.8'' was released on 29 April 2022. Early life Owens was born on 24 August 1988 in Rhuddlan, Flintshire on the North Wales coast. Owens recalls writing poetry as a child and that being out in nature (in her mother's fields) gave her the time and the solitude to write. As a teenager, she sang in her school choir and played bass and drums. Owens grew up in a nearby small village where, she describes, "everyone knows everyone else". She began working at 14 as a waitress and spent her teenage years "involved in the 2006/2007 indie scene". At age 19, Owens moved from Wales to Manchester to work at a cancer treatment hospital. Teneil Throssell, known professionally as HAAi, is an Australian electronic producer and DJ from Karratha, Western Australia. Throssell began her musical career in a series of rock bands, eventually moving to the UK as part of duo Dark Bells. She began DJing only after the band split up, going on to hold a residency at club Phonox in London from late 2016 for two years.
