Ultimate Table Tennis
The Ultimate Table Tennis is a professional level table tennis league in India. It was launched in 2017 and contested by 6 teams. It is organized by 11Sports promoted by Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani and held under the aegis of Table Tennis Federation of India. It is broadcast by Star Sports (Indian TV network), Star Sports. The current champions are Chennai Lions, who won the title in their debut season after defeating the defending champions Dabang Delhi TTC in the season 3 finals in 2019. Table Tennis
Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: Players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. A point is scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the hitter a great advantage. Hubertina Petronella Maria "Bettine" Vriesekoop (born 13 August 1961) is a former table tennis player from the Netherlands. She was European champion in 1982 and 1992 individually and in 1982 in mixed doubles. She competed at the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympics in singles and women doubles with the best achievement of sevenths place in both events in 1988. Vriesekoop started playing table tennis in 1972, and between 1977 and 2002 played at top level in Europe. She won the European Championship twice and was a Dutch Champion fourteen times in the singles and sixteen times in the doubles. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium is an indoor sports arena, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The facility seats 5,000 people. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium is an indoor arena, indoor sports arena in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The facility seats 12,000 people. The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex is a sports complex located in Pune, India. The complex is situated about 15 km from Pune downtown and 5 km from Hinjawadi.
