It is the fourth largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county. Hillevåg
Hillevåg is a borough of the Stavanger (city), city of Stavanger which lies in the southwestern part of the large municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located southwest of the city centre, south of the lake Mosvatnet, and north of the borough of Hinna. Hillevåg was a part of the old municipality of Hetland until 1965. The borough has residential areas as well as some industrial areas. The University of Stavanger and the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate are located in Hillevåg also. Hafrsfjord Stein
Hafrsfjord or Hafrsfjorden is a fjord in the Stavanger Peninsula in Rogaland county, Norway. The long fjord forms the border between the municipalities of Stavanger and Sola. On the west side of the fjord is the large village of Tananger, on the south is the village of Solakrossen, and on the east end of the fjord is the borough of Madla in the city of Stavanger. The Møllebukta bay area, located on the innermost part of the fjord, is the site of a popular beach and the Sverd i Fjell statues. The only bridge over the fjord is the Hafrsfjord Bridge which runs between Kvernevik in Stavanger and Jåsund in the village of Tananger in Sola. European route E39 is the designation of a north–south road in Norway and Denmark from Klett, just south of Trondheim, to Aalborg via Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. In total, there are nine ferries, more than any other single road in Europe. In Trondheim, there are connections to E6 and E14. Mosvatnet
Mosvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake lies just west of the centre of the city of Stavanger in the Eiganes og Våland borough. At , it is the third largest lake in the city of Stavanger after Hålandsvatnet and Stora Stokkavatnet. The lake reaches a maximum depth of and it lies at an elevation of above sea level. The lake flows out through a small stream that runs through underground culverts to the Breiavatnet lake before emptying into the nearby Byfjorden. Reservoir Mosvatnet was Stavanger's main water source between 1863 and 1931. The Great Fire of Holmen in Stavanger in 1860 showed that the city had a weak water supply. In 1863, the city initiated the building of a new waterworks at Mosvatnet that both would give residents proper drinking water and better access to water for fire crews.
