Ulf Sundberg
Ulf Eskil Erik Sundberg (born 29 September 1956) is a Swedish economist, historian and author of books and magazine articles. Sundberg was born in Stockholm, graduated ''Studentexamen'' at Whitlockska in 1976 and became a Master of Philosophy in 2014. He was created Doctor of Philosophy at Åbo Academy in 2018 on a thesis addressing the loss of the Swedish Empire early in the 18th century. Sundberg is especially skeptical in that book about the inadequate circumstances under which his country’s many outlying fortifications were positioned and maintained, as well as about the planning, construction and remodeling of them by Erik Dahlberg under King Carl XI. Earlier, he has primarily treated the centuries of warfare in which Sweden and neighboring countries were involved. Lund
Lund (, , ) is a city in the southern Swedish provinces of Sweden, province of Scania, across the Øresund, Öresund strait from Copenhagen. The town had 91,940 inhabitants out of a municipal total of 121,510 . It is the seat of Lund Municipality, Scania County. The Øresund Region, Öresund Region, which includes Lund, is home to more than 4.1 million people. Archeologists date the foundation of Lund to around 990, when Scania was part of Denmark. From 1103 it was the seat of the Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Lund, and the towering Lund Cathedral, built circa 1090–1145, still stands at the centre of the town. Denmark ceded the city to Sweden in the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, and its status as part of Sweden was formalised in 1720. ''Throne of a Thousand Years'' is a non-fiction book by author Jacob Truedson Demitz, first published in 1996 as the first English-language historical account solely about all the kings and queens of Sweden. and again as ''Centuries of Selfies'' in 2020. It details their personal histories, the impact of their reigns on Scandinavian history, and the political implications of disclosed dynastic ties in Europe. Sponsored mainly by Ericsson, ABB and the Swedish Postal Service, the 1996 account was published by Ristesson Ent in Ludvika and Los Angeles. A fictional chronicler called ''Erik, Son of Riste'' related the factual story, followed by fact boxes about each of the 66 monarchs covered and a number of ancestry charts. Turku
Turku ( ; ; sv, Åbo, ) is a city and former capital on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River, in the region of Finland Proper (''Varsinais-Suomi'') and the former Turku and Pori Province (''Turun ja Porin lääni''; 1634–1997). The region was originally called Suomi (Finland), which later became the name for the whole country. Ã…bo Akademi University ( sv, Ã…bo Akademi , ) is the only exclusively Swedish language multi-faculty university in Finland (or anywhere outside Sweden). It is located mainly in Turku (Ã…bo is the Swedish name of the city) but has also activities in Vaasa. Ã…bo Akademi should not be confused with the Royal Academy of Ã…bo, which was founded in 1640, but moved to Helsinki after the Turku fire of 1827 and is today known as the University of Helsinki. Kristinehamn
Kristinehamn is a locality and the seat of Kristinehamn Municipality, Värmland County, Sweden, with 17,839 inhabitants in 2010. Geography Kristinehamn is situated by the shores of lake Vänern where the small rivers ''Varnan'' and ''Löt'' drain into the lake. It has a harbour and is a railroad and road transportation center. Nearby towns include Karlskoga and Karlstad and are located exactly in the middle of Oslo, Stockholm and Gothenburg with 250 km to each of them. Dick Harrison
Dick Walther Harrison (born 10 April 1966) is a Sweden, Swedish historian. He is currently a Professor of History at Lund University. His main areas of interest are the European Middle Ages, including the medical history of the period and the history of slavery. Harrison regularly writes articles for the Swedish journal ''Populär Historia'' (Popular History). He has also written popular historical works and, during Spring 2010, a blog covering the history of monarchs and monarchies with emphasis on the Swedish monarchy. Harrison regularly gives lectures to the general public on a broad range of historical topics. Harrison is the editor-in-chief of a comprehensive series about Swedish history published by Norstedts with the first volume released in September, 2009.
