Ulan (Mongolian language, Mongolian: ; born November 1962), also Chinese romanization, romanized as Ulagan, or Wulan (), is a Chinese politician of Mongols in China, Mongol heritage, serving since 2016 as the Deputy Communist Party Secretary of Hunan. She spent most of her career in her native Inner Mongolia and rose through the ranks of the Communist Youth League. Biography Ulan was born to an ethnic Mongol family in Horqin Left Middle Banner of Jirem League (now Tongliao). She became involved in politics when she was a mere sixteen years old, when she began working for the Communist Youth League (CYL) office in Baotou. In September 1980, she graduated from Baotou Normal School, specializing in political instruction. She continued her involvement in the Youth League after, taking up a series of roles in its organization in Baotou. In June 1987 she was named deputy secretary of the Inner Mongolia CYL organization. Uhlan
Uhlans (; ; ; ; ) were a type of light cavalry, primarily armed with a lance. While first appearing in the cavalry of Lithuania and then Poland, Uhlans were quickly adopted by the mounted forces of other countries, including France, Russia, Prussia, Saxony and Austria-Hungary. Uhlans traditionally wore a double-breasted short-tailed jacket with a coloured 'plastron' panel at the front, a coloured sash, and a square-topped Polish lancer cap (, also called ). The ASCOD (Austrian Spanish Cooperation Development) armoured fighting vehicle family is the product of a cooperation agreement between Austrian Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG and Spanish General Dynamics Santa Bárbara Sistemas ( both companies are now divisions of a unit of General Dynamics). The ASCOD family includes the LT 105, a light tank equipped with a 105 mm gun, a surface-to-air missile (SAM) launcher, an anti-tank missile launcher, mortar carrier, R&R vehicle, Command & Control vehicle, ambulance, artillery observer, and the AIFV model. For the 2009 fiscal year, which ended on June 30, Olay accounted for an estimated $2.8 billion of P&G's revenue. Early days Olay originated in South Africa as Oil of Olay. Graham Wulff (1916–2008), a former Unilever chemist from Durban, started it in 1952. He chose the name "Oil of Olay" as a spin on the word "lanolin", a key ingredient. It was unique in the early days because it was a pink fluid rather than a cream, packaged in a heavy glass bottle. Wulff and his marketing partner, Jack Lowe, a former copywriter, had tested the product on their wives and friends and were confident in its uniqueness and quality.
