Ulaanbaatar Railbus
The Ulaanbaatar Railbus is a Rail transport in Mongolia, rail-based public transit system in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator, Ulaanbaatar. Route The rail route has one line, and starts at the west side of the capital at the Tolgoit Station, through the city centre to the east side of the city terminating at the Amgalan Station. Rapids are sections of a river where the river bed has a relatively steep gradient, causing an increase in water velocity and turbulence. Rapids are hydrological features between a ''run'' (a smoothly flowing part of a stream) and a '' cascade''. Ulaanbaatar Metro ( mn, Улаанбаатар метро) is a rapid transit system in the planning stages in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Ulaanbaatar Metro project was approved in 2012, and construction was originally planned to be completed by 2020, however, as of 2023 it is still not open. History The exact date of the initial studies on the project is unknown. Serious planning began in the early 2000s, when the city's population surpassed one million. In 2010, the population of Ulaanbaatar was 1,240,037 inhabitants and is increasing by nearly 100,000 people a year. The transport problem is exacerbated by the harsh climate and long winters. The RA-2 Multiple Unit (Cyrillic:''РА2'') is a Russian diesel multiple unit (rail bus), type 2. The RA-2 is produced by Metrovagonmash and is designed for passenger transportation on non-electrified railway lines with high traffic, as well as suburban and inter-regional communication. They can be operated as a part of only two head end cars, and with one or two trailing cars. The head / end cars have one exit from the cab for high platforms, and one in the centre of the car high and low platforms.
