Ukrainian Metal
Ukrainian metal is the heavy metal music scene of Ukraine. The most common Ukrainian heavy metal subgenres are black, pagan, folk and death metal. The most popular and well-known bands are black metal bands Drudkh, Nokturnal Mortum, Khors, Kroda, folk metal bands Holy Blood, Tin Sontsia, Veremiy and Kraamola. Metalcore bands Jinjer (founded in 2008) and Space of Variations (founded in 2009) signed a contract with Napalm Records. Stoned Jesus, Motanka, 1914 (founded in 2014) and IGNEA (founded in 2015) are Ukraine's newest metal bands with international notoriety. Among the biggest festivals were Metal Heads Mission (Crimea), Carpathian Alliance (Lviv oblast), Global East (Kyiv), ProRock (Kyiv). Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Death growls and gang vocals are common. 1990s metalcore bands were inspired by hardcore while later metalcore bands were inspired by melodic death metal bands like At the Gates and In Flames. Allmusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. Nokturnal Mortum
Nokturnal Mortum are a Ukrainian black metal band from Kharkiv. They were one of the founders of the Ukrainian black metal scene and pioneers in the early National Socialist black metal ("NSBM") scene. The band has claimed to have moved away from their neo-Nazi political stance and lyrical themes; however, those claims remain in question due to their appearances at neo-Nazi events. History Nokturnal Mortum was originally formed as a death metal band called Suppuration in 1991, then turned to black metal and changed name to Darkness but "had to change the name back in 1993/94 to Nocturnal Mortum because there already existed a band with that name in Western underground". Crimea

IGNEA
IGNEA is a Ukrainian melodic metal band formed in Kyiv in 2013. The band mixes different heavy metal subgenres, the main of which are melodic death metal, symphonic metal, progressive metal, and oriental metal. History In 2013, IGNEA started under the name Parallax and released debut EP titled ''Sputnik''. In 2014, the band released a single ''Petrichor'' featuring guitar solo and bouzoukitara part by Yossi Sassi (ex- Orphaned Land). In 2015, the band changed its name to IGNEA and released a single ''Alga'', with a full symphonic orchestra. The video gathered millions of views on the band’s YouTube channel. In 2017, IGNEA released ''The Sign of Faith'', the first full-length album, and an animated video for the song ''Şeytanu Akbar'' dedicated against terrorism. 1914 (band)
1914 is a Ukrainian extreme metal band formed in Lviv in 2014. Their songs focuses entirely on World War I, and the group itself was named for the year it began. Musically, 1914 combines the sound of doom, sludge, black and death metal. History 1914 was founded in late summer/early autumn 2014 in Lviv by musicians who already had musical experience and played in various Ukrainian musical groups (Kroda, Skinhate, Ambivalence, Johny B Gut, Stalag 328, Zgard, Disentrail, Ratbite, Toster). In 2015, the band released their debut album ''Eschatology of War'' through Archaic Sound. Three years later, their second album, ''The Blind Leading the Blind'', was released.
