Ukraine In The Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Ukraine has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2006. Ukrainian public broadcaster UA:PBC, has been responsible for the participation. Ukraine won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song " Nebo" performed by Anastasiya Petryk. Her sister, Viktoria Petryk, reached 2nd place at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with "Matrosy". Ukraine hosted the at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv on 21 November 2009. On 30 November 2013, Ukraine once again hosted the competition, this time at Palace "Ukraine" in Kyiv. Kyiv is the first city to host the contest twice, while Ukraine was then the second country after the to host the competition twice. On 2 July 2018, UA:PBC initially announced that they would not take part in the contest in Minsk, Belarus due to financial difficulties. We Are One (Sofia Tarasova Song)
"We Are One" is a song by Ukrainian singer Sofia Tarasova. It represented Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 hosted in Kyiv, Ukraine. Performances National final On 2 August 2013, Sofia Tarasova took part in the national selection for Ukraine. Tarasova performed 19th in a field of 20 candidates, and won the selection altogether. Despite only coming 11th in the jury voting, the judges agreed that she would represent the nation at the actual contest. For her performance in the selection, Tarasova had a headset microphone and was accompanied by a female backup singer. Junior Eurovision 2013 Tarasova's performance of "We Are One" was different than her performance from the national final. Ukraine selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 entry through a national final which consisted of eighteen songs. The final was held on 9 August 2014 in Bukovel, Ukraine. Sympho-Nick and their song "Pryyde vesna" (Прийде весна) was chosen as the winner. Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 which will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia on 26 November 2017. Their entrant was selected through a national selection, organized by the Ukrainian broadcaster NTU.
