Ukrainian Automobile Corporation JSC ( uk, Українська Автомобільна Корпорація), or UkrAVTO ( uk, УкрАВТО), is a Ukrainian automobile manufacturing and service company, as well as Ukraine's largest automobile distributor. Tariel Shakrovych Vasadze ( uk, Таріел Шакрович Васадзе) (born October 15, 1947) is a Ukrainian businessman of Georgian descent, chairman and main shareholder of the UkrAVTO JSC and UkrAVTO Group. He was the chief executive of UkrAVTO since 1983, leading this once state-owned company through privatization and restructuring to a role of Ukraine's main automobile manufacturer, servicer and importer. Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych ( en, Passenger Car Factory), commonly known as FSO, is a Polish automobile parts manufacturer, and formerly an automobile producer of historic significance, located in Warsaw. In 2011 the factory ceased production amidst the backdrop of the global crisis, but directly as a result of GM Korea's refusal to prolong the factory's licence to produce the Aveo. GM claimed that one of the reasons for breaking the cooperation with FSO was the entry into force of the EU-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, which stipulated that import duties on cars imported from South Korea (then at 10%) were to be progressively eliminated. AvtoZAZ ( uk, АвтоЗАЗ) is an automotive manufacturing company in Ukraine. It was founded in 1975 as Industrial Association, а holding that incorporated ZAZ, MeMZ, Illichivsk Automobile Parts Plant ( uk, Іллічівський завод автоагрегатів) and a number of other automobile-production facilities in Lutsk (LuAZ) and Kherson. It is the only enterprise in Ukraine having full-scale cycle of passenger cars production.
