ﾃ僕and (, ; ; sometimes written ''ﾃ詫and'' in other Scandinavian languages, and often ''Oland'' internationally; la, Oelandia) is the second-largest Swedish island and the smallest of the traditional provinces of Sweden. ﾃ僕and has an area of and is located in the Baltic Sea just off the coast of Smﾃ･land. The island has 26,000 inhabitants. It is separated from the mainland by the Kalmar Strait and connected to it by the ﾃ僕and Bridge, which opened on 30 September 1972. The county seat Kalmar is on the mainland at the other end of the bridge and is an important commercial centre related to the ﾃ僕and economy. The island's two municipalities are Borgholm and Mﾃｶrbylﾃ･nga named after their municipal seats. Swedish county road 136 ( sv, Lﾃ､nsvﾃ､g 136) is a county road on the island of ﾃ僕and, Sweden. This facility is a paved two lane structure that runs along the west coast of the island from Ottenby in the south to Nabbelund in the north. This highway constitutes the majority of named highway coverage on the island. Route 136 connects to Route 137 somewhat east of the ﾃ僕and bridge, which crosses the Kalmar Strait. Much of the island of ﾃ僕and has been designated a world heritage site by UNESCO in the form of the Stora Alvaret nature reserve. This reserve is home to a vast number of rare and endangered species due to the presence of an enormous limestone barren, which is the largest such formation in Europe. Route 136 is virtually the only spinal link allowing vehicle access to all parts of the Stora Alvaret. Borgholm Municipality
Borgholm Municipality (''Borgholms kommun'') is a municipality in Kalmar County, south-eastern Sweden, constituting the northern half of the island of ﾃ僕and in the Baltic Sea. The municipal seat is located in the city of Borgholm. Notable historic sites in this municipality are Borgholm Castle and Halltorps Estate. The local government reform in the 1970s saw the creation of two municipalities on the island of ﾃ僕and. Borgholm Municipality is the northern of the two and consists of sixteen original (pre-1952) entities. The southern half of the island is made up of Mﾃｶrbylﾃ･nga Municipality.
