Ugandan Cup
The Uganda Cup is Uganda's main national cup competition in football. This annual competition is open for member clubs of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. The Uganda Cup is the second most prestigious competition in Uganda football. It is played on a knock out basis. This annual competition is open for non league sides, registered clubs playing in all the five football divisions (Div I, II, III, IV and V) of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Background The Uganda Cup was first held in 1971. The current holders are BUL FC who won the cup by defeating VIPERS SC 3-1 on 12 June 2022 in Masindi district. Express FC and KCCA FC now hold holds the record number of wins with 10 cup titles, followed by SC Villa who have won 9 titles. 1977 Uganda Cup
1977 Uganda Cup was the third season of the main Ugandan football Cup. Overview The competition has also been known as the Kakungulu Cup and was won by Simba FC who were awarded a walkover after Nytil FC failed to appear for the final. At a time of the Idi Amin regime, the Army side, Simba FC, were eager to represent the country and forced the organisers to change the date of the final. Nytil learnt of the change via a radio-announcement and hence failed to show up. 1982 Uganda Cup
1982 Uganda Cup was the eighth season of the main Ugandan football Cup. Overview The competition has also been known as the Kakungulu Cup and was won by Kampala City Council FC who were awarded the tie after Nile Breweries FC left the field of play after 75 minutes. KCC were leading Nile 1-0 when the final was abandoned. The Nile players walked off the pitch in protest to a foul committed by KCC’s John Latigo on Moses Musoke. The Nile players wanted the referee to send off Latigo, but the referee gave Latigo a caution. This annoyed Nile players and they walked off the pitch leaving KCC to be awarded the trophy. 1981 Uganda Cup
1981 Uganda Cup was the seventh season of the main Ugandan football Cup. Overview The competition has also been known as the Kakungulu Cup and was won by Coffee Kakira who beat Uganda Commercial Bank FC 5-4 on penalties in the final. The score was level at 1-1 at the end of normal play. Results are not available for the earlier rounds, although it is known that Kampala City Council FC conceded a contentious match to Uganda Commercial Bank in the semi-final. KCC players were subsequently accused of match-fixing in particular Godfrey Kateregga who had a one-on-one against UCB’s keeper Jimmy Bossa Jnr but instead turned and sent a long back pass to his goalkeeper John Tebusweke. There appears to have been a reciprocal arrangement where UCB conceded a vital league match in order to assist KCC take the league title. Maroons FC
Maroons Football Club also known as Prisons Football Club, is a Ugandan football club from Kampala owned by Uganda Prisons Service, currently playing in the FUFA Big League. Playing as Prisons FC, the club won the first two editions of the Ugandan Premier League History Prisons FC won the first two Ugandan Super League titles in 1968 and 1969, and were the first team to represent Uganda in international competition in the 1970 African Cup of Champions Clubs (a Ugandan team, Bitumastic, qualified in 1967 but withdrew before playing a match.)
