Udai Bhan
Udai Bhan (born 2 November 1955) is state president of Haryana state unit of Indian National Congress. He has represented the Hodal Vidhan Sabha Constituency in Haryana Legislative Assembly in 13th assembly (2014-2019). Earlier he has represented Hassanpur Vidhan Sabha Constituency in 1987, 2000, 2005. Early life Mr Udai Bhan was born in Hodal in Palwal distt. in Haryana. His father Mr. Gaya Lal was a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Hodal constituency in Palwal district. Contesting as an Independent candidate from Hassanpur, reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Gaya Lal defeated the Congress’s M Singh by 360 votes, garnering 10,458 votes against Singh’s 10,098 votes. 2020–2021 Indian Farmers' Protest
The 2020–2021 Indian farmers' protest was a protest against three farm acts that were passed by the Parliament of India in September 2020. The acts, often called the Farm Bills, have been described as "anti-farmer laws" by many farmer unions, and politicians from the opposition who say it would leave farmers at the "mercy of corporates". The farmers have also demanded the creation of a minimum support price (MSP) bill, to ensure that corporates cannot control the prices. The union government, however, maintains that the laws will make it effortless for farmers to sell their produce directly to big buyers, and stated that the protests are based on misinformation. Devi Lal
Chaudhary Devi Lal (born Devi Dayal; 25 September 1915 – 6 April 2001) was an Indian statesman who served as 6th Deputy Prime Minister of India from 1989 to 1991 in the governments of V. P. Singh and Chandra Shekhar. Also popularly known as Tau (uncle), Lal emerged as farmer leader from the state of Haryana, and served as the Chief Minister of Haryana first in 1977-79 and then in 1987-89. Gaya Lal was an Indian politician and member of the Indian National Congress. Lal was a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Hodal constituency in Palwal district. Gaya Lal in 1967 changed party thrice in a fortnight first from the Indian National Congress to Janata Party, back to Congress and then within nine hours to Janata Party again. When Gaya Lal decided to quit the United Front and join the Congress, then Congress leader Rao Birendra Singh brought him to Chandigarh press and declared "Aaya Ram Gaya Ram". The Haryana Legislative Assembly or the Haryana Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral state legislature of Haryana state in India. The seat of the Vidhan Sabha is at Chandigarh, the capital of the state. The Vidhan Sabha comprises 90 Members of Legislative Assembly, directly elected from single-seat constituencies. The term of office is five years.
