Ubu Films was an experimental film-making collective based in Sydney that operated from 1965 to around 1970. Albie Thoms
Albie Thoms (28 July 1941 – 28 November 2012) was an Australian film director, writer, and producer. He was born in Sydney, Australia. He was nominated for at the 1979 AFI Awards for Best Original Screenplay for Palm Beach. He is best known for his work with Ubu Films Ubu Films was an experimental film-making collective based in Sydney that operated from 1965 to around 1970. David Perry (Australian Filmmaker)
David Perry (1933 – 15 April 2015) was a pioneering Australian experimental and underground filmmaker, video artist, and a founding member of Ubu Films (1965). He also practised as a photographer, poster artist and painter. Matt Carroll (producer)
Matthew Carroll OBE (born 6 June 1944) is an Australian film and TV producer. He is best known for producing films since the early 1970s including ''Breaker Morant'', '' Storm Boy'' and '' Sunday Too Far Away''. Later, he went into television production, producing the television series '' G.P.'' for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). He was a principal in the production house Roadshow, Coote and Carroll which produced television shows for Australian and international audiences. Background and early career Carroll was born in 1944 in Sydney. Peter Weir
Peter Lindsay Weir ( ; born August 21, 1944) is a retired Australian film director. Sydney Women's Film Group The Sydney Filmmakers Co-operative was a co-operative of independent filmmakers, set up to distribute and exhibit their films and the films of other independent filmmakers both Australian and overseas. The collection eventually included short films experimenting with film technique, low budget features, and documentaries with a particular emphasis on progressive social issues.
