Uberabão
Estádio Municipal João Guido, usually known as Uberabão, is a multi-use stadium in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 25,000 people. It was built in 1972. The stadium is owned by the Town Hall of Uberaba, and its formal name honors João Guido, who was Uberaba's mayor during the stadium construction. History In 1971, Uberaba's Town Hall, excited with the possibility of having a team from the city competing in the Campeonato Brasileiro, decided to build a football stadium. With the financial support of the entrepreneur Edgar Rodrigues da Cunha, the stadium was quickly built, being inaugurated in the following year. Uberaba Sport Club is a traditional Brazilian football club from Uberaba, Minas Gerais state. Their colors are red and white and their nicknames are "Colorado" and "Zebu" (mascot of the team and symbol of the city of Uberaba). History The club was founded on July 15, 1917. Uberaba
Uberaba () is a city in the state of Minas Gerais, southeast Brazil. It is located in the Brazilian Highlands at above sea level on the Uberaba River, and away from the state capital, Belo Horizonte. The city status was granted in 1856, and its name comes from the Tupi language meaning "bright water". As of 2021 the population was 340,277 inhabitants. Major Eustaquio founded a settlement in the vicinity of the ancient route of Anhanguera (also known as the 'Goyazes road') to serve as a stopping point for locals and travelers during the 19th century. Roberto Rivellino (also Rivelino, ; ; born 1 January 1946) is a Brazilian football pundit and retired footballer. He was one of the stars of Brazil's 1970 FIFA World Cup winning team.
