Uaneen Fitzsimons
Uaneen Fitzsimons (11 April 1971 – 22 November 2000) was an Irish music critic, television presenter and DJ. She presented alternative music programmes on RTÉ television and radio during the 1990s and became an influential music critic and popular media personality in Ireland. Fitzsimons was born in the village of Ardglass, Ardglass, Co. Down on 11 April 1971. She worked in the newsroom of BBC Northern Ireland before moving to Dublin to study. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the Dublin City University in 1994. While living in Dublin she reviewed bands for the teen television programme Jo Maxi and worked at the Ormond Multi-Media Centre. In 1997 she began working for RTÉ Cork as the presenter and researcher for No Disco, an alternative music television programme created by Donal Dineen. Borris-in-Ossory (, or the 'Burgage of Osraige') is a village in west County Laois, Ireland. Bypassed by the M7 motorway on 28 May 2010, the village is situated on the R445 road close to the County Tipperary border between the towns of Mountrath and Roscrea. Donal Dineen (born 5 May 1969) is an Irish radio presenter, photographer, film maker and former television presenter from County Kerry. Until recently he presented an assortment of loud ' noise/ electronica and world music on his ''Small Hours'' (formerly ''Here Comes the Night'') late-night radio show on Today FM. This show has now been cancelled for commercial reasons. He is also known for presenting the now defunct ''No Disco'' TV series on Network 2. Career Dineen studied communications in Dublin City University. It was here that he first picked up a camera as it was part of his course. From this point onwards he developed a fascination with the visual image. Ardglass () is a coastal fishing village, townland (of 321 acres) and Civil parishes in Ireland, civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland, in the historic Barony (geographic), barony of Lecale Lower. It is still a relatively important fishing harbor, harbour.
