''U Got 2 Know'' is the second and most successful studio album by Italian Eurodance act Cappella. It was initially released via the Mercury Records label on March 7, 1994, and later re-released via other labels with slightly different track listings. The album saw great success in many European countries, peaking at number one in the Swiss and Finnish charts. Eight singles were released from the album. "U Got 2 Know" is a song by Italian Eurodance music group Cappella, released in 1992. It was successful in clubs and was re-released in 1993. In 1994, it was included on the group's second album by the same name. The single was a top 10 hit in Ireland and the UK, peaking at number seven and number six. On the UK Dance Singles Chart, it peaked at number one. It contains an uncredited interpolation of " Happy House" (1980) by British rock band Siouxsie & The Banshees and an uncredited vocal sample of " You Used to Hold Me" (1987) by Ralphi Rosario & Xaviera Gold. Vocalist Anna Ross and rapper MC Fixx It (Ricardo Overman) were chosen by producer Bortolotti for live performances. Cappella is an Italian Eurodance music group formed in 1987 by producer Gianfranco Bortolotti. The act went through a number of line-up changes over the years but was most successful in the early 1990s when it was fronted by British performers Kelly Overett and Rodney Bishop. Their biggest hit was "U Got 2 Let the Music", which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1993. Background The name Cappella was first used in 1987. In the beginning, they were a Hi-NRG influenced house act with producer Gianfranco Bortolotti of Media Records leading the group, with significant contributions from fellow producers Stefano Lanzini, Diego Leoni and Pieradis Rossini. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. GfK Entertainment is the provider of weekly Top 100 single and album charts, as well as various other chart formats for genres like compilations, jazz, classical music, schlager, hip hop, dance, comedy, and music videos. Following a lawsuit in March 2014 by Media Control AG, Media Control® GfK International had to change its name.
