Azur Air Ukraine, until October 2015 UTair-Ukraine, ( ua, ЮТейр-Україна, russian: ЮТэйр-Украина) is a Ukrainian charter airline based at Boryspil International Airport. It used to be a subsidiary of Russian UTair Aviation. In October 2015, it has been announced that tour operator Anex Tours would acquire UTair-Ukraine from UTair Aviation. History UTair-Ukraine (2008–2015) Founded in 2008, UTair-Ukraine was set up as the Ukrainian subsidiary of Russian parent company, UTair Aviation, to serve domestic and international destinations. Azur Air Ukraine (2015–present) In October 2015, it was announced that tour operator Anex Tours would acquire UTair-Ukraine from UTair Aviation with the aim to rebrand it to Azur Air Ukraine as a leisure charter carrier. Utair (russian: ОАО «Авиакомпания «ЮТэйр») () is a Russian airline with its head office at Khanty-Mansiysk Airport while its hubs are at Surgut International Airport and Vnukovo International Airport. It operates scheduled domestic and some international passenger services, scheduled helicopter services, and extensive charter flights with fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters in support of the oil and gas industry across western Siberia. History In February 1967, the Aeroflot Tyumen Directorate was set up to meet the transport requirements of the fast-growing oil and gas industry undergoing development in western Siberia. In the wake of the break-up of the Aeroflot organization, Tyumenaviatrans Aviation (TAT) was formed in 1991 to replace the Aeroflot Tyumen Directorate. TAT adopted the name of UTair in 2002. Boryspil International Airport ( uk, Міжнародний аеропорт «Бориспіль») is an international airport in Boryspil, east of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It is Ukraine's largest airport, serving 65% of its passenger air traffic, including all its intercontinental flights and a majority of international flights. It is one of two passenger airports that serve Kyiv along with the smaller Zhuliany Airport. Boryspil International Airport was a member of Airports Council International. History Early years On 22 June 1959, the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR ordered the establishment of regular civil air traffic to the then military airfield near Boryspil.
