Dour, Belgium
Dour (; pcd, Doû) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 16,810 inhabitants. The total area is 33.32 km2, giving a population density of 505 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Blaugies, Dour, Élouges, and Wihéries. Dour is often considered the western end of the ''sillon industriel'', the former industrial backbone of Wallonia. River Dour
The River Dour is a chalk stream in the county of Kent, England. It flows from the villages of Temple Ewell and River between which is a neighbourhood served by a railway station, Kearsney. It is roughly long. It originally had a wide estuary on the site of modern Dover, although today it flows into the Dover Harbour through a culvert. The estuary was a natural harbour for the Bronze Age settlers and traders in the area. The remains of a Bronze Age seagoing boat (from 3,500 years ago), known as the Dover Bronze Age Boat, were found in 1992, and it can be seen in Dover Museum. The Dour Estuary was then used as a port for the Roman town, as a natural harbour for the Roman fleet. This silted up in the medieval period, necessitating the construction of various artificial harbours for Dover instead. Ad-Dawr ( ar, الدور) is a small agricultural town in Saladin Governorate, Iraq, near Tikrit. It includes a great number of people from 4 tribes, al-Shuwaykhat, al-Mawashet, al-Bu Haydar and al-Bu Mdallal. Al-Mawashet tribe is famous for supporting Saddam Hussein. Ed Dur, also known as Al Dour and Ad Dour ( ar, ٱلدُّوْر, Ad-Dūr, lit=The Houses) is an Ancient Near Eastern City, today located in Umm Al Quwain, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). One of the largest archaeological sites in the emirates, comprising an area of some , the coastal settlement overlooks Al Beidha Lake. USS ''Dour'' (AM-223) was an built for the United States Navy during World War II. She was awarded three battle stars for service in the Pacific during World War II. She was decommissioned in March 1947 and placed in reserve. While she remained in reserve, ''Dour'' was reclassified as MSF-223 in February 1955 but never reactivated. In October 1962, she was sold to the Mexican Navy and renamed ARM ''DM-16''. She was stricken from Mexican Navy service in 1986, but her ultimate fate is not reported in secondary sources. U.S. Navy career ''Dour'' was launched 25 March 1944 by American Shipbuilding Co., Lorain, Ohio; sponsored by Mrs. W. R. Douglas; and commissioned 4 November 1944.
