USM Malakoff (football)
Union Sportive Municipale de Malakoff is a football team located in Malakoff, France. It is the football section of the parent multi-sport club USM Malakoff. As of the 2020–21 season, the team plays in the Départemental 3, the eleventh tier of French football. The club's colours are blue and red. History USM Malakoff was founded in 1945. The highest tier the club has reached in the French football league system is the Division 2, playing in the division in the 1975–76 season. However, they finished 18th in their group and were relegated. In total, USM Malakoff played 25 seasons of football at national level from 1966 to 1991. In the Coupe de France, the club has reached round of 32 on six occasions. In November 1953, Malakoff played in a friendly match against the Hungary national team, who were Olympic gold medalists at the time. French Football League System
The French football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in France and Monaco, and includes one Spanish side. At the top two levels of the system is the Ligue de Football Professionnel, which consists of two professional national divisions, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Below that are a number of leagues run by the Fédération Française de Football. At level 3 is the semi-professional Championnat National. Below that is the amateur Championnat National 2 (level 4), which is divided into four parallel regional divisions, followed by the Championnat National 3 (level 5), which is divided into 12 parallel regional divisions. French Division 3 (1971–1993)
The French Division 3 was the third tier in the French football pyramid, after the Division 1 and Division 2, from 1971 to 1993. Although it was succeeded by the Championnat National 2, the Championnat National became the new third division. Paul Moukila
Paul Moukila (6 June 1950 – May 1992), nicknamed Sayal, was a footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. A Congolese international, he was winner of the 1974 African Footballer of the Year award. Career Born in Souanké, Moukila began playing football for local side CARA Brazzaville. He played for the club from 1971 to 1975 and then from 1976 to 1978, after returning from a short spell abroad, at French club Strasbourg (1975–1976). With the Congo national team, Moukila won the African Cup of Nations in 1972. He was later voted African Footballer of the Year in 1974. Maxen Kapo (born 19 January 2001) is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Swiss Super League club Lausanne-Sport.
