USA International Competition, Jackson
The USA International Ballet Competition, or USA IBC, is one of the world's top competitions for ballet. Located in Jackson, Mississippi, this competition is attended by dancers from all over the world to represent their country for bronze, silver, or gold medals in a variety of categories of ballet in an Olympic-style competition. Founded in 1978 by Thalia Mara, the first USA International Ballet Competition took place in 1979. This first competition was given sanction by the United Nations' International Dance Council, International Dance Committee of UNESCO's International Theatre Institute. In 1982, the United States Congress passed a Joint resolution designating Jackson, Mississippi, as the official home of the USA International Ballet Competition. Johan Kobborg
Johan Kobborg (born 5 June 1972) is a Danish ballet dancer, choreographer, director and visual artist. He is most noted as a ballet dancer, having been a principal dancer with both the Royal Danish Ballet and the Royal Ballet in London, as well as making guest appearances with other ballet companies. Following his departure from the Royal Ballet in 2013, he was the artistic director of the Romanian National Ballet Company until 2016. Zenaida Yanowsky, Lady Keenlyside (born 23 December 1975), is a French-born Spanish ballet dancer and a former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London. Yury Yanowsky (born 1972 in Lyon, France) is a French-born Spanish ballet dancer and choreographer. He was a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet. Sara Webb (born 1979) was an American professional ballet dancer and a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet (1997–2018). Early life and education Webb was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Henderson, Nevada.
