River Ury
The River Urie (or River Ury) ( gd, Uaraidh / Ùraidh) is a small river in northeastern Scotland situated in the Garioch area of Aberdeenshire. Its origins are close to Bennachie, approximately 25 miles to the northwest of Aberdeen. The river runs for approximately 15 miles before meeting the River Don at the south edge of Inverurie. Its main tributary is the Gadie Burn. Fishing permits are available for salmon and trout. The Ordnance Survey use the name "River Urie" and this spelling is often used, possibly because of the association with Inverurie (which was itself spelled Inverury until the nineteenth century). William Ury
William Ury is an American author, academic, anthropologist, and negotiation expert. He co-founded the Harvard Program on Negotiation. Additionally, he helped found the International Negotiation Network with former President Jimmy Carter. Ury is the co-author of ''Getting to Yes'' with Roger Fisher, which set out the method of principled negotiation and established the idea of the best alternative to a negotiated agreement (BATNA) within negotiation theory. Background Ury was educated at Le Rosey and at Phillips Andover where he graduated in 1970. In college, Ury studied anthropology, linguistics, and classics. Ury received his B.A. from Yale and his PhD in social anthropology from Harvard. In 1979 he co-founded the Harvard Negotiation Project of which he is currently a Distinguished Fellow. Ury Benador (pen name of Simon Moise Grinberg; May 1, 1895 – November 23, 1971) was a Romanian playwright and prose writer. Born in Mihăileni, Botoșani County, his parents were Moise Fridl, a Yiddish-language writer, and his wife Liba (''née'' Schmidt). A self-educated man, his first published work was a one-act play that appeared in the Iași ''Lumea'' in 1924. This was subsequently included in his first book, ''5 acte'' (1925). A member of the ''Sburătorul'' circle, he won the Romanian Dramatic and Music Critics' Association Prize in 1924. Magazines that ran his work include ''Viața Românească''. Louis Newton Ury (1877 – March 4, 1918), nicknamed "Old Sheep", was a Major League Baseball first baseman during the end of the 1903 season. He played in two games for the St. Louis Cardinals on September 9 and September 12, both at Robison Field in St. Louis. He did very well in the field, handling 24 chances without an error. John Ury (died 29 August 1741) was a Non-juring Anglican priest who was falsely accused of being a Catholic priest, a Spanish spy, and the mastermind of the New York Slave Insurrection of 1741.
