UP Stock Exchange
UP Stock Exchange (UPSE) is a Kanpur-based stock exchange. It occupied a prominent place among the Stock Exchanges in India. The Exchange was inaugurated on 27 August 1982 by the then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. It played an important role in the development of the capital market of North India. Initially, it had only 350 members which grew up to 540. UPSE is the only stock exchange in Uttar Pradesh and the membership is not restricted to the people of Uttar Pradesh only. Members living outside Kanpur has contributed a lot by creating the equity cult in whole of the Uttar Pradesh. VIP Road, Kanpur
VIP Road or Parwati Bagla Road (formerly ''Amherst Street'') is a major arterial road in Kanpur, India. It connects Meghdoot Trisection at Mall Road with Grand Trunk Road at Rawatpur. The road has tall decorated walls on both of its sides. The road houses the bungalows of government officials of the city including the District Magistrate of Kanpur District. Elgin Mills which is the first cotton mill in Kanpur is situated on this road. Pranab Mukherjee
Dr. Pranab Mukherjee (11 December 193531 August 2020) was an Indian politician and statesman who served as the 13th president of India from 2012 until 2017. In a political career spanning five decades, Mukherjee was a senior leader in the Indian National Congress and occupied several ministerial portfolios in the Government of India. Prior to his election as President, Mukherjee was Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012.
