Xu Yafen
Xu Yafen ( zh, s=徐亚芬, hp=Xú Yàfēn) is a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) politician and university administrator. She is a member of the 11th CCP Conference of Zhejiang Province and chair of the board of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, a partnership with the British University of Nottingham, and chair of the Chinese Zhejiang Wanli University. Xu is also a visiting professor at Tsinghua University and a research fellow at the Human Science Institute of the Chinese Academy of Management Science. He was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a renowned nuclear physicist and a Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, England. Wanli Education Group (WEG) is situated in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang province, near Shanghai. About the Group In June 1993, WEG took over an engineer school on the verge of bankruptcy and established an international school whose offer ranges from kindergarten to higher education. In a decade or so, due to a rapidly increasing demand, WEG reached an enrollment level of 24,000 students, with a teaching and administrative staff of 2,100 people. Yinzhou () is a district of the major city of Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China. History In 220 BC, Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the Qin dynasty, established three counties called Yin (), Mao () and Gouzhang (). Later they were merged into Gouzhang county during the Sui dynasty. It was renamed Mao county during the Tang dynasty. It had assumed its current name of "Yin" in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period.
