UK Joint Logistics Support Base
The UK Joint Logistics Support Base (UKJLSB) is a military base located within the Al Duqm Port & Drydock of Duqm, Oman. As a British overseas military base, it is used to facilitate the deployment of the British Armed Forces in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean. History In March 2016, the British government secured a joint venture between the British-based Babcock International and the Omani-based Oman Drydock Company to develop the Al Duqm Port & Drydock into a strategic port capable of supporting naval operations. An agreement was subsequently announced to construct logistical support infrastructure especially for the British Armed Forces, named the UK Joint Logistics Support Base (UKJLSB), in August 2017. Al Duqm Port & Drydock
Duqm Port is a seaport located in the Duqm, Oman. The port is equipped with a Ship Repair Yard & Drydock facility. In August 2017, the Oman and the U.K. governments jointly established the UK Joint Logistics Support Base at Duqm Port. The port has sufficient space and depth to berth the Royal Navy's ski-jump carriers. In 2018, the port was used for Exercise Saif Sareea 3, a 10-day long military exercise. Al Udeid Air Base ( ar, قاعدة العديد الجوية) is one of two military bases southwest of Doha, Qatar, also known as Abu Nakhlah Airport (). It houses the Qatar Emiri Air Force, United States Air Force, Royal Air Force, and other foreign forces. The United Kingdom Carrier Strike Group 21 (CSG21) was a British-led naval force that was deployed on Operation Fortis from May to December 2021. Type 23 Frigate
The Type 23 frigate or Duke class is a class of frigates built for the United Kingdom's Royal Navy. The ships are named after British Dukes, thus leading to the class being commonly known as the Duke class. The Omani-British Joint Training Area is a proving grounds, training area established in 2019 for combined operations, joint military training between Oman and the United Kingdom.
