The Northern Junior Hockey League (NJHL) was an independent regional junior ice hockey league based in Jamestown, New York. The league operated from 2008 to 2010. History United Junior Hockey League The United Junior Hockey League (UJHL) was created in 2008 when three teams — the Penn Enforcers, Philadelphia Thunder, and Wooster Oilers transferred from the America East Hockey League to form the UJHL along with the additional expansion teams — Findlay Grrrowl and Jamestown Jets. In August 2008, after the America East Hockey League went dark for the 2008–2009 season, the UJHL accepted four Canadian teams that were to be new members of the AEHL into the UJHL. A new Division was created for the teams, made up of prep schools and small colleges that field Junior teams from Quebec, Canada. In February 2009, the entire North Division left the UJHL. Findlay Grrrowl
The Michigan Grrrowl was a tier III Junior "A" ice hockey team and a member of the Midwest Junior Hockey League. The franchise was previously known as the NWO Grrrowl and Findlay Grrrowl Franchise history Findlay Grrrowl era The franchise was founded in 2008 as the Findlay Grrrowl based in Findlay, Ohio, United States at the Huntington Bank Arena at the Hancock Rec Center. Wooster Oilers
The Wooster Oilers are a junior ice hockey team and member of the United States Premier Hockey League 'Premier' level. The Oilers play home games at the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster, Ohio. History The franchise started in 2006 as an expansion team in the America East Hockey League (AEHL). After the 2007–08 season the team moved to the United Junior Hockey League (UJHL) for the 2008–09 season along with two other AEHL teams. The Wooster Oilers finished third overall in their first season in the UJHL. The following season after the UJHL collapsed, the Wooster Oilers, along with many other UJHL franchises, joined the Northern Junior Hockey League. Philadelphia Thunder
The Philadelphia Jr. Jackals was an independent junior "A" ice hockey team that played in the Mid-Atlantic Division of International Junior Hockey League Super Elite League. The team played its home games at The Rink At Old York Road in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. This team was affiliated with the Elmira Jackals minor professional hockey team of ECHL and the Mississauga Chargers hockey team of the OJHL (higher affiliate). America East Hockey League
America East Hockey League was a Junior A league that folded in August 2008. The League had teams in the Northeastern region of the United States. Its stated goal was to develops its players to play on college, Major Junior, and professional teams. America East was also the first Junior League affiliated with the North American Amateur Hockey Association (NAAHA). League History The league formed in 2005 with five member teams for the 2005–2006 season based in the Northeastern United States. The league expanded to 9 teams for the 2006-2007 season with teams based in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US. Harrington College Icebergs
The Harrington College Icebergs are an independent Junior A ice hockey team for players ages 15–20. The team is affiliated with Harrington College of Canada. The Icebergs are members of the America East Hockey League. The team plays home games at the Kevin Lowe-Pierre Page Ice Arena in Harrington, Quebec. History The Icebergs joined the AEHL for the league's first season in 2005. The team was the only Canadian team with other member teams based in the Northeastern United States. The team was founded with the school in 2005 as part of a unique and elite training program for hockey players based on the Hockey Canada development program. Jamestown Jets
The Jamestown Jets were an American junior ice hockey team based in Jamestown, New York. Originally members of the United Junior Hockey League and later the Northern Junior Hockey League. The Jets played in the Canadian Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League in 2010-11. History The team was announced in March 2008. The team's name comes from the Winnipeg Jets and was chosen by a fan. Team Ulysse is a Canadian Junior ice hockey from La Plaine, Quebec. They are former members of the Northern Junior Hockey League and the United Junior Hockey League, a pair of Independent Junior A leagues from the United States The team is affiliated with École secondaire de l'Odyssée. The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) is an American Tier III junior ice hockey league that consists of teams from Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
