Protective Relay
In electrical engineering, a protective relay is a relay device designed to trip a circuit breaker when a fault is detected. The first protective relays were electromagnetic devices, relying on coils operating on moving parts to provide detection of abnormal operating conditions such as over-current, overvoltage, reverse power flow, over-frequency, and under-frequency. Microprocessor-based solid-state digital protection relays now emulate the original devices, as well as providing types of protection and supervision impractical with electromechanical relays. Electromechanical relays provide only rudimentary indication of the location and origin of a fault. In many cases a single microprocessor relay provides functions that would take two or more electromechanical devices. By combining several functions in one case, numerical relays also save capital cost and maintenance cost over electromechanical relays. Founded in 1974, the University of Ouagadougou (UO; french: Université de Ouagadougou) is in the area of Dagnöen Nord (pronounced dag-no-en noor) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. It was officially renamed in 2015 as l’Université Ouaga 1 Professeur Ki-Zerbo. The UO consists of seven Training and Research Units (UFR) and one institute. The Union of Resistance Forces (french: Union des forces de la résistance, ar, اتحاد قوى المقاومة; abbreviated UFR) is an alliance of Chadian rebel groups. Origins The UFR was founded in mid-January 2009 as an alliance of eight separate rebel groups: History The UFR was established near the end of the Chadian Civil War (2005–2010) by rebel groups opposed to the government of President Idriss Déby. Timane Erdimi, nephew of Déby and leader of the RFC, was appointed the head of the alliance. UFR forces suffered severe losses to the Chadian Army at the Battle of Am Dam in May 2009 and the Battle of Tamassi in April 2010. The severe casualties suffered by the UFR, along with peace agreements signed between Chad and Sudan, led the alliance to splinter and disperse. Franche-Comté (, ; ; Frainc-Comtou: ''Fraintche-Comtè''; frp, Franche-Comtât; also german: Freigrafschaft; es, Franco Condado; all ) is a cultural and historical region of eastern France. It is composed of the modern departments of Doubs, Jura, Haute-Saône and the Territoire de Belfort. In 2016, its population was 1,180,397.
