UEFA Euro 2000 Qualifying
Qualifying for the UEFA Euro 2000 final tournament, took place throughout 1998 and 1999. Forty-nine teams were divided into nine groups. All teams played against each other, within their groups, on a home-and-away basis. The winner of each group and the best runner-up qualified automatically for the final tournament. The rest of the runners-up played an additional set of playoff matches amongst each other. Belgium and the Netherlands qualified automatically as co-hosts of the event. Qualified teams Qualification seeding The draw occurred on 18 January 1998, in Ghent, Belgium. The 49 participating teams were divided into five drawing pots based on the newly introduced 1997-edition of the UEFA national team coefficient ranking, which calculated an average of the team's points per game achieved combined in the Euro 1996 and 1998 World Cup qualifiers. Keith Rowland
Keith Rowland (born on 1 September 1971) is a Northern Irish football manager and former footballer, who is manager of Tilbury. As a player, he was a defender who notably played in the Premier League for Coventry City and West Ham United. He also played in the Football League for AFC Bournemouth, Queens Park Rangers, Luton Town, Chesterfield and Barnet, as well as with non-league sides Hornchurch, Redbridge and Welling United. He also represented Northern Ireland, winning 19 caps. Since retirement, Rowland has worked as a manager and coach within non-league football. He has managed Wingate & Finchley and Aveley, having previously been on the coaching staff at Braintree Town. Oliver Bierhoff (born 1 May 1968) is a German football official and former player who played as a forward. He has previously served as the national team director of the German Football Association. A tall, strong and prolific goalscorer, Bierhoff was mostly renowned for his excellent abilities in the air, and as a target man, being able to deliver pin-point headers towards goal. Bierhoff scored the first golden goal in the history of major international football, for Germany in the Euro 96 final, a career-defining performance that vaulted him into the international limelight. Ulf Kirsten
Ulf Kirsten (born 4 December 1965) is a German former professional footballer who played as a striker. Nicknamed ''Der Schwatte'' (dialect for ''Der Schwarze'', 'The Black One'), he is the first player in history to reach a total 100 caps playing with two different national teams (first for East Germany, then Reunified Germany). Kirsten's biggest success was the victory of the 1992–93 DFB-Pokal. Club career Dynamo Dresden Kirsten began playing football for local team BSG Chemie Riesa in 1972. Alexandru Guzun
Alexandru Guzun (born 29 September 1966) is a Moldovan FIFA player agents, football manager and former footballer who played as defender or midfielder. During his career, Guzun played for several clubs from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. He played in European cups for Niva, Rapid București and Tiligul Tiraspol. With Rapid, Guzun also played against Inter Milano on San Siro. Hugh Dallas MBE (born 26 October 1957) is a Scottish former football referee. He officiated at two FIFA World Cup tournaments, in 1998 and 2002; he was appointed fourth official for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final. Dallas also officiated at the 1996 Olympic Games, the 1999 UEFA Cup Final and several UEFA Champions League matches. Bursa Atatürk Stadium ( tr, Bursa Atatürk Stadyumu) was a multi-purpose stadium in Bursa, Turkey. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home ground of Bursaspor. The stadium held 25,213 and was built in 1979. A stadium had existed on this site since 1930 when a stand with a capacity of 300 was built for an amateur football club. The stadium was demolished in 2016.
