UEFA Euro 1980 Qualifying
The qualifying round for UEFA Euro 1980 consisted of 31 teams divided into seven groups; three of five teams and four of four teams. The qualifying round (drawn in Rome on 30 November 1977) was played at various times between May 1978 and February 1980, with some groups concluding earlier than others. Stadionul Steaua (1974)
Steaua Stadium ( ro, Stadionul Steaua), informally also known as Ghencea, was a football stadium in Bucharest, Romania, which served as the home of Steaua București. It was inaugurated on 9 April 1974 when Steaua played a friendly game against OFK Belgrade, 2–2. Gheorghe Tătaru was the first player to score in the stadium. The stadium was entirely demolished in 2018, and was replaced with a new all-seater stadium opened in 2021. History At the time it was one of the first ''football-only'' stadiums ever built in Romania, as there are no athletic (track and field) facilities, and the stands are very close to the pitch. Rubén Andrés Cano Martínez (born 5 February 1951) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a striker. Vicente del Bosque González, 1st Marquess of Del Bosque (; born 23 December 1950) is a Spanish retired football manager and former player. He is regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time and is to date the only football manager to have won the World Cup, the Champions League, the European Championship and the Intercontinental Cup. Johannes "Jan" Nicolaus Ignacius Keizer (born 6 October 1940 in Volendam, North Holland) is a retired Dutch referee. He is known for having refereed two matches in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. He also refereed one match in the 1984 UEFA European Football Championship in France. Keizer is known to have been a FIFA referee during the period from 1974 to 1987. Juan Manuel Asensi Ripoll (born 23 September 1949) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Born in Alicante, Valencian Community, Asensi began his career at local Elche CF – at the time in La Liga – before joining FC Barcelona in 1970, for 80 million pesetas. During his time at the club, he was instrumental in helping the Catalans win the league in 1974 (34 matches, 11 goals, third-best in squad), also adding the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1979 and scoring in the final held in Basel.
