UEFA Euro 1976 Qualifying Group 1
Group 1 of the UEFA Euro 1976 qualifying tournament was one of the eight groups to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 1976 finals tournament. Group 1 consisted of four teams: Czechoslovakia, England, Portugal, and Cyprus, where they played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The group winners were Czechoslovakia, who finished one point above England. UEFA Euro 1976 Qualifying
The qualifying round for the 1976 European Football Championship consisted of 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams. Each group winner progressed to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals were played in two legs on a home-and-away basis. The winners of the quarter-finals would go through to the final tournament. Přemysl Bičovský
Přemysl Bičovský (born 18 August 1950 in Košťany) is a Czech football manager and former player. He played 45 matches for Czechoslovakia. He was previously the manager of FK Ústí nad Labem in the Czech 2. Liga. He was a participant in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He played for FK Teplice and later spent his best football years at Bohemians Praha. Anton Ondruš
Anton Ondruš (born 27 March 1950 in Solčany, Czechoslovakia) is a former Slovak football player and considered one of the best defenders of the seventies. Early club career He started to play regularly for Slovan Bratislava in the fall of 1970. With this club, he won the Czechoslovak League in 1974 and 1975, and he later become the captain of this team, playing in total in 210 matches and scoring 38 goals. The team won the Czechoslovak Cup in 1974. International career Ondruš played 58 matches for Czechoslovakia and scored 9 goals. As a captain, he led the national team in the 1976 UEFA European Championship. Alberto Michelotti
Alberto Michelotti (15 July 1930 – 18 January 2022) was an Italian association football, football player and referee. Career Michelotti began his career in football as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper, before becoming a referee in Serie A in 1967. In 1973, Michelotti was appointed a FIFA International Referees List, FIFA referee. At club level, Michelotti officiated the 1975 Coppa Italia Final between ACF Fiorentina, Fiorentina and A.C. Dušan Galis (born 24 November 1949) is a Slovak politician, a former Czechoslovak football player and a former manager of ŠK Slovan Bratislava. Tamagnini Manuel Gomes Batista (born 20 November 1949), known as Nené (), is a retired Portuguese professional footballer. A prolific striker, he played his entire career with Benfica, appearing in nearly 600 official games for the club and winning 19 titles, a record for several years. Kevin Keegan
Joseph Kevin Keegan (born 14 February 1951) is an English former footballer and manager. A forward, he played for several professional clubs from 1968 to 1984. Having begun his career at Scunthorpe United, he moved to Liverpool in 1971 and then to Hamburger SV in 1977, enjoying great success at both clubs.
