University College Boat Club (Durham)
University College Boat Club (UCBC) is the rowing club of University College, Durham, University College at Durham University in north-east England, with over 100 members, a large boathouse and a fleet of boats. UCBC has a long history of racing success, winning the Grand Challenge Cup at Durham Regatta more than any other College (though the majority of wins were in the 19th Century) and qualifying for Henley Royal Regatta several times, most recently in 2001. Founded in 1834, UCBC is the oldest society in Durham and is the oldest Boat Club in the North of England. The club celebrated its 175th anniversary at Durham Regatta in 2009. Blackburn University Centre (or BUC) is a higher education institute based in Blackburn, Lancashire, England as part of Blackburn College. University Centre offers degrees, HNC/HNDs and postgraduate courses, each validated by the University of South Wales, the University of Central Lancashire or Lancaster University. History Formerly known as the East Lancashire Institute of Higher Education (ELIHE), the institution was formed in 1993 with the purchase of the old seven-floor former British Telecom building for £2.5 million and formally named as the ELIHE in 2003. University College Boat Club (Oxford)
University College Boat Club (commonly abbreviated to UCBC) is the rowing club for all members of University College, Oxford ("Univ"). UCBC has had a recent run of successes, notably in the Women's divisions with the Women's 1st VIII winning the Headship in Summer Eights 2022, and the 2nd VIII winning Blades in Summer Eights 2014 and again in Summer Eights 2018. The men's side is also highly successful and is currently eleventh on the river in Summer Eights, with three crews in fixed divisions.
