U4 (Frankfurt U-Bahn)
The U-Bahn Line B is the second line in the network of the Frankfurt U-Bahn. It leads in west–east direction from the central railway station (''Hauptbahnhof'') over the old town to Konstablerwache, where it splits into two branches to Bornheim (U4 service) and Preungesheim (U5 service). Originally planned as an independent main line, the D line represents an extension of the U4 to Bockenheimer Warte from the central railway station. The northern branch to Preungesheim was opened in 1974 and was used by the B1 service, and since May 1978 by U5. A large part of the route consists of a former tram line, which runs in Eckenheimer highway on street-level railway track. The platforms were also very low on the parts of the track, meaning that only the converted Ptb trams could run on the line. From 2013 to 2016, the above ground stations were developed barrier-free. Since 9 October 2016 the subway cars type U5 run on the U5 service. Inaugurated in 1980, the U4 runs between Bockenheim ...

U4 Spliceosomal RNA
The U4 small nuclear Ribo-Nucleic Acid (U4 snRNA) is a non-coding RNA component of the major or U2-dependent spliceosome – a eukaryotic molecular machine involved in the splicing of pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA). It forms a duplex with U6, and with each splicing round, it is displaced from the U6 snRNA (and the spliceosome) in an ATP-dependent manner, allowing U6 to re-fold and create the active site for splicing catalysis. A recycling process involving protein Brr2 releases U4 from U6, while protein Prp24 re-anneals U4 and U6. The crystal structure of a 5′ stem-loop of U4 in complex with a binding protein has been solved. Biological role The U4 snRNA has been shown to exist in a number of different formats including: bound to proteins as a small nuclear Ribo-Nuclear Protein snRNP, involved with the U6 snRNA in the di-snRNP, as well as involved with both the U6 snRNA and the U5 snRNA in the tri-snRNP. The different formats have been proposed to coincide with different temp ...

U4 (Munich U-Bahn)
The Munich U-Bahn (german: U-Bahn München) is an electric rail rapid transit network in Munich, Germany. The system began operation in 1971, and is operated by the municipally owned Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG; Munich Transport Company). The network is integrated into the Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (MVV; Munich Transport and Tariff Association) and interconnected with the Munich S-Bahn. The U-Bahn currently comprises eight lines, serving 96 stations (100 stations if four interchange stations with separate levels for different lines are counted twice), and encompassing of routes. Current routes There are eight lines: The network has of active route, and 100 stations. In 2014, 390 million passengers rode the U-Bahn. The trains operate at speeds up to , which is the top speed among German U-Bahns. There is no continuous operation during the night (break from 1 to 4 am, 2 to 4 am on weekends) except on special occasions such as New Year's Eve. Currently, ...

Haplogroup U4 (mtDNA)
Haplogroup U is a human mitochondrial DNA haplogroup (mtDNA). The clade arose from haplogroup R, likely during the early Upper Paleolithic. Its various subclades (labelled U1–U9, diverging over the course of the Upper Paleolithic) are found widely distributed across Northern and Eastern Europe, Central, Western and South Asia, as well as North Africa, the Horn of Africa, and the Canary Islands. Origins Haplogroup U descends from the haplogroup R mtDNA branch of the phylogenetic tree. The defining mutations (A11467G, A12308G, G12372A) are estimated to have arisen between 43,000 and 50,000 years ago, in the early Upper Paleolithic (around 46,530 ± 3,290 years before present, with a 95% confidence interval per Behar et al., 2012). Ancient DNA classified as belonging to the U* mitochondrial haplogroup has been recovered from human skeletal remains found in Western Siberia, which have been dated to c. 45,000 years ago. The mitogenome (33-fold coverage) of the Peştera Muierii ...

U4 (Hamburg U-Bahn)
The U4 is a line of the Hamburg U-Bahn, which opened in 2012, serving 12 stations. It is the shortest line of the network, with a length of and from Jungfernstieg to Billstedt it shares tracks with the U2. Route The U4 is the newest line of the Hamburg U-Bahn and the first line that is to form as a branch of an older, existing line. It shares the U2's tracks from Billstedt to the major transfer station Jungfernstieg, located in the city center, branching off before the station and stopping at the outer tracks of the four-platform station. It then traverses under the Neustadt in a far-swinging 180° bend and reaches the newly built Überseequartier station in HafenCity after about . The following station, HafenCity Universität lies about to the east in the Elbtorquartier. On 7 December 2018 the line was extended eastward, to a new terminus at Elbbrücken, allowing for a future S-Bahn connection with lines S3/S31. The line runs almost entirely underground, only surfacing ...

U4 (Berlin U-Bahn)
The U4 is a line of the Berlin U-Bahn in Germany, the shortest in Berlin's U-Bahn system with a length of . It serves five stations, with only the two termini being step-free. Opened in 1910, it is the only subway line in Berlin to have never been extended and the only one to have no night service on weekends. In 1903, Schöneberg a then independent city south-west of the then municipal boundaries of Berlin, planned to develop an underground railway line to improve public transportation. As the line promised less profit for a private investor (up to that point all Berlin U-Bahn lines had been built with private capital), the negotiations with the (Berlin Elevated Railway Company, then the operator of Berlin U-Bahn) were unsuccessful. Consequently, Schöneberg started to build the line itself on 8 December 1908. Two years later, the construction was finished and, on 1 December 1910, the line was put into operation. Although Schöneberg owned the track, upon opening, it handed ope ...

Unemployment
Unemployment, according to the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), is people above a specified age (usually 15) not being in paid employment or self-employment but currently available for Work (human activity), work during the reference period. Unemployment is measured by the unemployment rate, which is the number of people who are unemployed as a percentage of the labour force (the total number of people employed added to those unemployed). Unemployment can have many sources, such as the following: * new technology, technologies and inventions * the status of the economy, which can be influenced by a recession * competition caused by globalization and international trade * Policy, policies of the government * regulation and market (economics), market Unemployment and the status of the economy can be influenced by a country through, for example, fiscal policy. Furthermore, the monetary authority of a country, such as the central bank, can influ ...

U-47700
U-47700, also known as U4, pink heroin, pinky, and pink, is an opioid analgesic drug developed by a team at Upjohn in the 1970s which has around 7.5 times the potency of morphine in animal models. U-47700 is a structural isomer of the earlier opioid AH-7921 and the result of a great deal of work elucidating the quantitative structure–activity relationship of the scaffold. Upjohn looked for the key moieties which gave the greatest activity and posted over a dozen patents on related compounds, each optimizing one moiety until they discovered that U-47700 was the most active. U-47700 became the lead compound of selective kappa-opioid receptor ligands such as U-50488, U-51754 (containing a pyrrolidine rather than a dimethylamine substituent) and U-69,593, which share very similar structures. Although not used medically, the selective kappa ligands are used in research. Pharmacology U-47700 is an agonist of the μ-opioid receptor (Ki 11.1 ± 0.4nM) and possesses significantly l ...
