A total of ten special routes of U.S. Route 71 exist. Alexandria bypass Bypass 71 is a controlled access highway at Alexandria, Louisiana. Its northern terminus is an interchange with Interstate 49 and U.S. Routes 71 and 165 north of Alexandria. Its southern terminus is at an interchange with Interstate 49 and U.S. Routes 71 and 167 south of Alexandria. Springdale Poultry Industry Historic District
The Springdale Poultry Industry Historic District encompasses a small complex of commercial industrial buildings associated with the poultry industry in Springdale, Arkansas. Its three buildings included the original headquarters building of Tyson Foods, one of the world's largest producers of chicken meat. That building, at 319 East Emma Avenue, was built between 1914 and 1924 to house a produce store, and was extensively altered in 1947 to house the Tyson offices. Immediately adjacent at 317 East Emma is a chicken hatchery, built in 1924 by the Springdale Electric Hatchery Company and renamed the Jeff Brown Hatchery in 1949. The Tyson Feed Mill building stands behind these at 316 East Meadow. Jeff Brown was the first president of the Arkansas Poultry Improvement Association. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. The Arkansas and Missouri Railroad is a Class III short-line railroad headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas. The A&M, as it is known, operates of line from Fort Smith, Arkansas to Monett, Missouri. The railroad interchanges freight cars with Kansas City Southern Railway at Fort Smith, with Union Pacific Railroad at Van Buren, Arkansas, and with BNSF Railway at Monett. A branch line connects Bentonville, Arkansas, with the main line in Rogers, Arkansas. A&M also leases of track (locally known as "the Bottoms") from Union Pacific at Van Buren, and provides haulage services for Union Pacific between Van Buren and the Fort Smith Railroad in Fort Smith. Donald John Tyson (April 21, 1930 – January 6, 2011) was an American businessman who was the President and CEO of Tyson Foods during its rise to the top of the food business. Early life Donald J. Tyson was born in Olathe, Kansas. He attended the public schools in Springdale, Arkansas, and completed his education at Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri, and at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he became a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Lake Fayetteville is a reservoir of Clear Creek created by Lake Fayetteville Dam in 1949 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
