It is also designated as the main truck route for traffic headed north towards Jacksonville. Alcolu is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Clarendon County, South Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 429. Alcolu has a post office with ZIP code 29001, which opened on August 17, 1888. It developed as a lumber and mill town. History Alcolu was established between 1885 and 1890 by D.W. State Route 24 (SR 24) is a state highway that travels south-to-north in an S-shaped curve through portions of Bulloch, Screven, Burke, Jefferson, Washington, Baldwin, Putnam, Morgan, and Oconee counties in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. State Route 67 (SR 67) is a state highway that runs south-to-north through portions of Bryan, Bulloch, and Jenkins counties in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The route connects Fort Stewart and Pembroke with Millen, via Statesboro. Route description SR 67 begins on the northeastern edge of Fort Stewart, approximately southeast of Pembroke, within Bryan County.
