U.S. Bicycle Route 8
U.S. Bicycle Route 8 (USBR 8) is the northernmost U.S. Numbered Bicycle Route, which runs between Fairbanks and the Canada–US border in the state of Alaska in the United States. Route description USBR 8 lies entirely within Alaska, and much of it follows the Alaskan Highway. It has two spur routes. The routes were approved by AASHTO in early May 2011, making them one of the first expansions of the U.S. Bike Route system since 1982. USBR 8 has connections to U.S. Bicycle Route 97 (USBR 97) in Fairbanks, U.S. Bicycle Route 95 (USBR 95) in Delta Junction, and U.S. Bicycle Route 108 in Tok. Spur Route
A spur route is a short road forming a branch from a longer, more important road such as a freeway, Interstate Highway, or motorway. A bypass or beltway should not be considered a true spur route as it typically reconnects with another or the same major road. Canada In the province of Ontario, most spur routes are designated as A or B, such as Highway 17A, or 7B. Alaska Marine Highway
The Alaska Marine Highway (AMH) or the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) is a ferry service operated by the U.S. state of Alaska. It has its headquarters in Ketchikan, Alaska. The Alaska Marine Highway System operates along the south-central coast of the state, the eastern Aleutian Islands and the Inside Passage of Alaska and British Columbia, Canada. Haines Highway
The Haines Highway or Haines Cut-Off (and still often called the Haines Road) is a highway that connects Haines, Alaska, in the United States, with Haines Junction, Yukon, Canada, passing through the province of British Columbia. Alaska Route 2 is a state highway in the central and east-central portions of the U.S. state of Alaska. It runs from Manley Hot Springs to the Canada-United States border, passing through Fairbanks and Delta Junction.
