U.S. 380
U.S. Route 380 (US 380) is an east–west United States highway. The highway's eastern terminus is in Greenville, Texas at an intersection with Interstate 30, of which the easternmost 3–4 miles are concurrent with US 69 in a loop around the west and south sides of Greenville. Its western terminus is at San Antonio, New Mexico, south of Socorro at an intersection with Interstate 25. It intersected with its parent, U.S. Route 80, at Cisco until 1971, when it was rerouted along the former SH 24 from that highway's western terminus near Old Glory to Greenville. Former U.S. Route 380 from Cisco to near Old Glory became an extension of SH 6. The highway no longer connects to any x80 route. US 380 passes through some of the far northern suburbs of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, including (from west to east) Denton, Frisco, McKinney and Princeton. Interstate 25 (I-25) is a major Interstate Highway in the western United States. It is primarily a north–south highway, serving as the main route through New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. I-25 stretches from I-10 at Las Cruces, New Mexico (approximately north of El Paso, Texas) to I-90 in Buffalo, Wyoming (approximately south of the Montana–Wyoming border). It passes through or near Albuquerque, New Mexico; Pueblo, Colorado; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Denver, Colorado; Fort Collins, Colorado; and Cheyenne, Wyoming. The I-25 corridor is mainly rural, especially in Wyoming, excluding the Albuquerque, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver, and Fort Collins metropolitan areas. New Mexico State Road 1
State Road 1 (NM 1) is a state highway in New Mexico, that runs north from Mitchell Point to Socorro. Mostly paralleling Interstate 25 (I-25) throughout its entire length, it has a total length of , and is maintained by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT). After an intersection with NM 107, NM 1 passes dirt roads leading to Fort Craig and San Marcial. It then goes through the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, as well as the communities of San Antonio, where it intersects U.S. Route 380 (US 380), and Luis Lopez, before ending in Socorro. Aspermont, Texas
Aspermont is a town in the U.S. state of Texas, and is the county seat of Stonewall County. The population was 835 at the 2019 census. History The town was established in 1889. Aspermont means "rough mountain" in Latin, and is probably a reference to the nearby Double Mountains. The city was founded by A. L. Rhomberg of Swiss-Austrian descent, who might have been a descendant of the noble family Aspermont from Graubünden, which is known to have relocated to Dornbirn in the Austrian part of the Rhine Valley and changed the name to Rhomberg. Marshall Formby, later a Texas state senator, operated the ''Aspermont Star'' weekly newspaper in the middle 1930s. The paper is now known as the ''Double Mountain Chronicle ''. Jayton, Texas
Jayton is a city in and the county seat of Kent County, Texas, United States. It is located in the northeastern portion of the county, and the population was 534 as of the 2010 census. History Jayton's history begins in the 1880s. Originally known as "Jay Flat", it was established northeast of its present location and named after a local ranching family. A post office was granted in 1886, and Daniel Jay served as the community's first postmaster. In 1907, the townsite was moved to its present location for improved proximity to rail service, and it was officially renamed "Jayton" later that same year. The community's first newspaper, the Jayton ''Herald'', was established the following year, and the city incorporated in February 1910. By 1925, Jayton was home to 750 residents. Princeton is a city in Collin County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 6,807, with an increase to 17,027 in 2020. History In the late 1870s T. B. Wilson and his brother George began farming near the site of future Princeton. In 1881 the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad Company extended its line from Greenville to McKinney, passing through land owned by the brothers. The name "Wilson's Switch" was commonly used to designate the area. When residents applied for a post office branch, however, they learned that the name Wilson was already being used. The community then submitted the name "Princeton" in honor of Prince Dowlin, a landowner and promoter of the town. This name was accepted, and a post office was established in 1888. Frisco is a city in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and about from both Dallas Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Its population was 200,509 at the 2020 U.S. census. Denton is a city in and the county seat of Denton County, Texas, United States. With a population of 139,869 as of 2020, it is the 27th-most populous city in Texas, the 197th-most populous city in the United States, and the 12th-most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
