U.D. Oliveirense (basketball)
União Desportiva Oliveirense, commonly known as Oliveirense Basquetebol or simply Oliveirense, is a basketball team based in Oliveira de Azemeis, Portugal. It plays in Portuguese LPB. The team has won one Portuguese Cup, one Portuguese Supercup and the League Cup twice. The team is a part of the parent football club U.D. Oliveirense. The last time the club competed in Europe was in the 2003–04 season, when it played in the FIBA Europe League. History Since its beginning, Oliveirense Basquetebol was a powerhouse in the Portuguese basketball field. Liga Portuguesa De Basquetebol
The Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol ( en, Portuguese Basketball League), also known as Liga Betclic for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's professional club basketball league in Portugal. History From the 2008–09 season onward, the competition has been again organised by the Federação Portuguesa de Basquetebol (Portuguese Basketball Federation) after not having been for 13 seasons. This was caused by the fold of the LPB after many years of financial problems, with the league now being a semi-professional league. 2018–19 LPB Season
The 2019–20 LPB season was the 86th season of the premier Portuguese basketball league and the 11th season under the current Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) format. For sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as Liga Placard. Oliveirense retained the title achieving their second league ever. União Desportiva Oliveirense (UDO), commonly known as Oliveirense, is a Portuguese sports club from the city of Oliveira de Azeméis, in Aveiro District. The club was founded on 25 October 1922. The main football team currently plays at the Estádio Carlos Osório which holds a seating capacity of 4,000 and plays in Liga Portugal 2. As a multisports club it fields very successful teams in rink hockey and basketball as well. Ovarense Basquetebol is a professional basketball team that plays in Ovar, Portugal. The team plays in the LPB. The Ovarense created its section of basketball in 1970, with the initiative of a member entrepreneur, João Gonçalves, but in this period of time managed to assert itself as one of the standards and the inevitable reference method in Portugal.
