U.D.O
U.D.O. is a German Heavy metal music, heavy metal band founded by lead vocalist Udo Dirkschneider in 1987. History Following Udo Dirkschneider's departure from Accept (band), Accept in 1987, he formed his own band called U.D.O. He recruited guitarists Mathias Dieth and Peter Szigeti, bassist Frank Rittel and drummer Thomas Franke. They released their debut album titled ''Animal House (U.D.O. album), Animal House'' on 3 November 1987, which was entirely written by Accept. They would tour with the likes of Guns N' Roses, Lita Ford and Zodiac Mindwarp. Rubach, Rittel and Franke departed the band, and guitarist Andy Susemihl, bassist Thomas Smuzyszki and drummer Stefan Schwarzmann joined. The follow-up album ''Mean Machine (U.D.O. album), Mean Machine'' was released on 10 January 1989. Susemihl left the band, with U.D.O. now as a four-piece. Udo Dirkschneider (born 6 April 1952) is a German singer and songwriter who rose to fame with German heavy metal band Accept. After leaving the band in 1987, he formed U.D.O., with which he has also enjoyed commercial success. Biography Former Accept and current U.D.O. lead singer Udo Dirkschneider has a long career spawning almost five decades that helped to shape German heavy metal. His unique and raspy voice approach and, his taste for huge choruses made big part of Accept's appeal and made him the one of most recognizable characters in the heavy metal history. In November 2011, Dirkschneider's son Sven supported U.D.O. on a date in Germany and became a permanent member of his father's band in February 2015. Stefan Kaufmann (born 4 August 1960) is a German drummer and guitarist, best known as a member of the heavy metal bands Accept and U.D.O. Career He joined Accept as drummer early enough to appear on the cover photos for their debut album, but too late to record the drums for the album (that was done by Frank Friedrich). Faceless World
''Faceless World'' is the third studio album by German heavy metal band U.D.O., released on 25 February 1990 via RCA Records. It was recorded in Dierks Studios in Cologne and mastered in Hamburg. The album's musical style features a more light approach than previous and future albums, and achieved great success. Previous guitarist Andy Susemihl had left the band, but takes writing credits for "System of Life", "Living on a Frontline" and "Future Land". Guitarist Wolla Böhm was added, but is only credited and pictured in the album as a member, although he does perform with the band in the "Heart of Gold" music video. Andy Susemihl is a German guitarist, singer, songwriter and record producer. He began his career in the 1980s and gained international success since 1987 in hard rock bands such as U.D.O. and Sinner. Life and career Born and raised in Germany, he first learned guitar at the age of 12 and started to play local clubs. As a well-respected guitar player, he was asked to join the hard rock band Sinner in 1986 to record their 4th album ''Dangerous Charm''. The album was followed by a large European tour. Timebomb (album)
''Timebomb'' is the fourth studio album by German heavy metal band U.D.O. It was recorded and mixed at Dierks Studios in Cologne from November 1990 to February 1991. The album is considered the band's heaviest following a light approach on ''Faceless World''. The band was aided by Gaby "Deaffy" Hawke on lyrics. Deaffy was also the author of the English lyrics on the Accept albums, and is a pseudonym for Gaby Hoffmann (maiden name Hauke), manager of Accept and later married to the guitarist Wolf Hoffmann. ''Timebomb'' was the band's last release with Mathias Dieth and Thomas Smuszynski, who went on to join Running Wild in 1992. Bill Hudson is a Brazilian-American heavy metal guitarist, currently serving as the main composer, lead guitarist and founder for power metal supergroup NorthTale. He worked with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra as well German heavy metal bands U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, both fronted by former Accept vocalist Udo Dirkschneider and American death metal band I Am Morbid, featuring former Morbid Angel frontman David Vincent and drummer Tim Yeung. As of 2021, he is the guitarist for German heavy metal legend Doro Pesch, after acting as a fill in guitarist since 2017. Dieter Rubach
Dieter Rubach (born 28 April 1955 in Solingen) is a German bass player, composer, engineer and producer. Life and career In the early 1970s, Rubach joined the heavy metal band Accept, first on keyboards, later on bass until he left in 1978 and was succeeded by Peter Baltes. In 1983, after leaving the German pop band Lichtblick, he formed his own hard rock band Bad Steve, along with other ex-Accept members like Frank Friedrich and Jan Koemmet, who left the band after their albums ''Breaker'' and ''Restless And Wild''. Rumors and pictures say that 3 other Accept members (Jörg Fischer, Stefan Kaufmann and Hansi Heitzer) also played with Bad Steve. Kasperi Heikkinen
Kasperi Heikkinen (born 1980) is a guitar player who is best known as a member of Finnish symphonic power metal band Amberian Dawn. He played in the band from early 2007 until late 2012. He is also the guitarist for Finnish metal bands Merging Flare and Guardians of Mankind, which is a Gamma Ray tribute band. Heikkinen performed with German metal band U.D.O. from 2013 until 2017. He currently resides in Helsinki, Finland. As a touring musician, Heikkinen has played on part of the German Power Metal band Gamma Ray's Majestic tour in 2006 following an injury to Henjo Richter. Accept are a German heavy metal band from the town of Solingen, formed in 1976 by guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and former members Udo Dirkschneider (vocals) and Peter Baltes (bass). Their beginnings can be traced back to the late 1960s, when the band got its start under the name Band X. Accept's lineup has changed over the years, which has included different singers, guitarists, bassists and drummers. Their current lineup consists of Hoffmann, vocalist Mark Tornillo, guitarists Uwe Lulis and Philip Shouse, drummer Christopher Williams and bassist Martin Motnik.
