Tyrrell is an unincorporated community in Trumbull County, Ohio, Trumbull County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. History The community was named for Elijah and Ebijah Tyrell, pioneer settlers. A variant name was Tyrell Hill. A post office called Tyrrell Hill was established in 1878, the name was changed to Tyrrell in 1894, and the post office closed in 1930. Trumbull County is a county in the far northeast portion of U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 201,977. Its county seat is Warren, which developed industry along the Mahoning River. Trumbull County is part of the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. History In the early years of the European discovery and exploration of the New World, the land that became Trumbull County was originally claimed by French explorers as part of the French colony of Canada (New France).
