Tyngsborough High School (THS) is located at 36 Norris Road in Tyngsborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Tyngsborough High School has approximately 484 students as of 2019, and is part of the Tyngsborough school district. History The current Tyngsborough High School building for grades 9-12 opened in 1992. Previously, grades 7-12 attended the Tyngsborough Junior-Senior High school, which the now serves as Tyngsborough Middle School for grades 6-8. Tyngsborough High School was built next to the old Junior-Senior High School. Additionally, Tyngsborough Elementary School was constructed on its own campus in 2003. This allowed elementary grades 1-5, middle school grades 6-8, and high school grades 9-12 their own campuses. Tyngsborough (also spelled Tyngsboro) is a town in northern Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Tyngsborough is from Boston along the Route 3 corridor, and located on the New Hampshire state line. At the 2020 census, the town population was 12,380. By its location, the town serves as a suburb of neighboring cities such as Nashua, New Hampshire and Lowell, Massachusetts. History Tyngsborough was settled in 1661, as part of the massive Dunstable Township. The town of Dunstable, incorporated in 1673, was named after the hometown of pioneer Edward Tyng. However, a relative of his, and the source of the town of Tyngsborough's name, was Colonel Jonathan Tyng, whose home, the Tyng Mansion House, was one of the oldest north of Boston. Nantucket () is an island about south from Cape Cod. Together with the small islands of Tuckernuck and Muskeget, it constitutes the Town and County of Nantucket, a combined county/town government that is part of the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
